i love your channel, but this guy is just baiting police. walking down a beach with an assault weapon would alarm most any beach goer. i never knew it was legal while fishing. lets use some common sense here....this guy is looking for trouble and if on the jury i would rule against him for damages.

Maybe the law should be changed. I fish all the time and have never had to use any form of weapon. It is a poorly written law and I would guess that it was to allow someone to carry a weapon to and from fishing because they thought the person may need to protect themselves from wildlife. But, hey, I am not from the USA so my opinion on this matter doesn't hold much water.

The purpose the cops had was to show the onlookers that he was not following the law and if any of them did the same they would get arrested, its all about show and intimidation.

Seriously. I haven't been in the military and owned two firearms that I took out for weekend shooting at the range only. And I've NEVER pointed my gun in someone's direction. I support First Amendment auditors, but the Armed Fisherman is really pushing the boundaries. There are thousands of shootings in the US every year, so I have no problem with cops thoroughly investigating a guy who is armed with a short-barreled AR-15 assault rifle and walking through a crowd of people. At this point, the Armed Fisherman has uploaded a bunch of videos, so a lot of cops should recognize him, but if they don't know about his videos, then they are well within their rights to thoroughly investigate why this guy is walking through a crowd, armed to the teeth and looking like he's ready to go to war. By the way, I own an AR-15 pistol like the one he's got, but I don't walk around in public with it. I keep it at home for self-defense. If I carried it around in public, I would expect to be stopped by police. That's common sense.

And when it happens, when qualified immunity ends, what do you think will happen? What kind of people will do the job? Which laws will be enforced? What person will willingly put themselves in daily situations in which they could be sued? Ending qualified immunity is not the answer. Civilian IA's and national blacklisting of Officer's that have been dismissed by one county so they cannot be hired at another.
Qualified immunity only applies to civil matters not criminal. From what I see there are multiple criminal offenses starting off with assault and battery and ending up with felony kidnapping.
He doesn’t need a reason to carry a gun. I am a cop. I’ve come across a couple people open carrying guns and people complain that it is “suspicious”. I never even contact the person with a gun. I educate the person who doesn’t understand the second amendment.

After watching numerous Armed Fisherman vids, I have learned that he is a really nice guy if you let him explain the law and respect his rights. There are many cops that have approached him, listened to him, learned the law, and then bid him a farewell. These cops were not those. These were just ignorant tyrants that were on a power trip.

@@nic.h Since the officers acted without legal authority to do so, when they placed him in handcuffs and moved him from the beach to the police cruiser, it technically escalated to armed kidnapping. But the DA won't pursue those charges even though the police actually broke the law.

It isn't "Constitutional Carry" as such. It is a Florida statute that allows carry while hunting, camping, and/or fishing, going to or coming from. Constitutional Carry is something else that means you can carry open or concealed without a permit.

Maybe the law should be changed. I fish all the time and have never had to use any form of weapon. It is a poorly written law and I would guess that it was to allow someone to carry a weapon to and from fishing because they thought the person may need to protect themselves from wildlife. But, hey, I am not from the USA so my opinion on this matter doesn't hold much water.

I support First Amendment auditors, but the Armed Fisherman is really pushing the boundaries. There are thousands of shootings in the US every year, so I have no problem with cops thoroughly investigating a guy who is armed with a short-barreled AR-15 assault rifle and walking through a crowd of people. At this point, the Armed Fisherman has uploaded a bunch of videos, so a lot of cops should recognize him, but if they don't know about his videos, then they are well within their rights to thoroughly investigate why this guy is walking through a crowd, armed to the teeth and looking like he's ready to go to war.
By the way, I own an AR-15 pistol like the one he's got, but I don't walk around in public with it. I keep it at home for self-defense. If I carried it around in public, I would expect to be stopped by police. That's common sense.

Qualified immunity only applies to civil matters not criminal. From what I see there are multiple criminal offenses starting off with assault and battery and ending up with felony kidnapping.
He doesn’t need a reason to carry a gun. I am a cop. I’ve come across a couple people open carrying guns and people complain that it is “suspicious”. I never even contact the person with a gun. I educate the person who doesn’t understand the second amendment.

After watching numerous Armed Fisherman vids, I have learned that he is a really nice guy if you let him explain the law and respect his rights. There are many cops that have approached him, listened to him, learned the law, and then bid him a farewell. These cops were not those. These were just ignorant tyrants that were on a power trip.
A lot of the police recognize him and even have their photos taken with him and go into conversations of what lures the fish are biting on.
I actually love the way he treated the police here and everyone should be like him and talk like him towards the police

Considering that the US had more than 300 mass shootings in just the first six months of 2022, it doesn't seem very nice to make a point of carrying an AR-15 assault rifle while walking through a crowd of families trying to enjoy a pleasant day at the beach. I wonder how much fear he caused people to feel. He even said he "doesn't care about people's feelings." They certainly deserved it, especially after making such a big production of detaining and disarming him, in a humiliating manner. Here in Wisconsin it's illegal to remove a person from the point of detention unless they're being placed under arrest.
Doesn't moving them from place of detention essentially escalate this to a defacto arrest.

@@nic.h Since the officers acted without legal authority to do so, when they placed him in handcuffs and moved him from the beach to the police cruiser, it technically escalated to armed kidnapping. But the DA won't pursue those charges even though the police actually broke the law.

It isn't "Constitutional Carry" as such. It is a Florida statute that allows carry while hunting, camping, and/or fishing, going to or coming from. Constitutional Carry is something else that means you can carry open or concealed without a permit.
