Anyone who lived in Germany from 1933 to 1945, even if they escaped, even if they were never in a concentration camp, are classified as Survivors.
This Survivor endured discrimination in school, restriction to normal activities, and had to flee.
Had she not fled, she would have been deported and perished with her parents.
Furthermore, she was uprooted from her language and culture when otherwise she would have remained in Germany.
The interviewer had her repeat details that were clearly stated previously. But there have been far worse interviewers. At least this interviewer had a calm, caring voice.
Still the interview was well worth listening to and I thank her for doing it!

Another sweet, gentle soul as I've found all the survivors interviewed to be.

Thank you for sharing your experience and giving an insight into the children who's parents made the sacrifices so the children could get to safety.

The fact that they lived across the street from Hitler. That no houses or businesses were destroyed on "his" street during kristallnacht says so much.
The amount of people who were helpful and who cared and who did a lot for others is uplifting, especially since so many of these stories show how nobody helps and do the opposite of helping. Well that's an understatement

Always remember if you wanted to help you faced arrest and execution. Would you help under these circumstances?

Why would u send kids to school with all that danger around...... I cannot understand......but then I can’t understand how such a so called educated race could do so much harm to a people because of their religion....

The same reason that causes war between any people or hatred. It's a universal problem. The same reason why Israelis and Palestinians are fighting. The same reason for genocides in Bosnia to Rawanda etc etc. It's due to fear, and hatred. People need to choose peace and unity.

We,humans, are an inferior race and we are not able to choose peace and unity, there is always envy,jealousy,hatred,self-destruction.
