- Hello! This will be our first series that journeys past the queen into the Ashlands! To add extra spice, we're going hard mode and without a map (hence semi-hardcore)! - portals are still on to save a TON of time sailing. We will be drawing our own map of the estimated landmasses and surroundings throughout the series, feel free to check out the seed and compare (but don't spoil, I'm not done yet!!) Yeah... compass should be added to the game. It's gonna be pretty useless for the base game. But for 'no map' mod it's a must!
Make it craftable in the bronze age or even iron, cuz that's where most of the sailing starts.
As a reference they can use a real sun compass. Maybe make it usable only during the day. And make it show you the time of the day, that way it will be somewhat useful in the base game too.
2:24:49 when you are standing in top of turnip seeds lamenting the lack of seeds made me want to scream 😂 if you didn’t have the bed up at that moment as a compass it would probably have been close enough that it even would have said ‘turnip seeds’ on the screen.
Hey at least I called it that I'd walk right past them 😆 too many things im focussed on and the stupid seeds blend in

2:24:49 beautiful turnips ! It's just so hard to spot them when you're also keeping an eye out for crypts, surtling swpaners, leeches, random enemies...
Also, I generated a fresh world for Ashland and I really feel like some parts of worldgen unrelated to Ashland have been modified, in particular swamps.

When I do my no map runs I usually don't do a map instead I make a metric ton of roads and sign posts. That's because I am directionally challenged both in real life and in games lols. I heard your tip about building your main base by a very tall mountain and that is such a great idea. You can get so lost sailing. Or, at least, I can. No map is a different game indeed.

i did say im blind xD especially when focusing on 3 other things
my very first time fighting the Elder I had to do it twice because he fell in deep water the first time and I didn't know how to get the key out
I could have sworn I saw a crypt when he got distracted by the 2 star leech

Ah yes hardcore is brutal. My best is post moder until I got 1 tapped by a goblin 🤣 but tbf I had a map on then.
This series is more focused on no map but a bit more lenient in terms of death penalty and combat.
Is this the public beta? I found there to be _way_ more carrot seeds growing the the forest than in previous versions of the game. (You also commented on there being a lot of carrot seeds in this video.)
yes this is in public beta recorded about a week ago. ashlands is full of bugs. not gonna complain about farming being less tedious tho :p
@@henrik9658 LOL I saw you run into that troll smash copper AOE bug where the boulder trolls mine copper way faster. Immediately exploited that. Not gonna complain about copper being less tedious either.
