I am dying at how effortlessly he just picks up the lightsaber and starts twirling it as if it’s just muscle memory.
It is. According to behind the scenes videos, Ewan, Liam, and Hayden got so into the fights and even just practicing (which they did for HOURS each day) that they ended up paying someone on set to unbend them after practice and between scenes

On any other show this would have been cringey... Graham has such a way of making guests feel comfortable. You get the sense that he genuinely is enjoying this and isn't just doing it becuase it's the "obvious" thing to do.
Graham is the KING of this format.
Absolutely true, I tried thinking of someone else that could pull this off and nothing comes to mind. On an unrelated note I do love how excited Colbert would get about Lord of the Rings.
I think Conan O’Brien would be able to pull it off. Only Graham and Conan are the only talk show hosts that care about their guests and not their own ego.

He actually was using the Youngling Slayer 9000. The one he said was Alec Guinness' was actually Anakin's saber. The green one was Luke's and the red one was Maul's.

@@draltar Pro lightsabers that have the 'saber turning on and off effect' where the light slowly goes up or down, on hit sound effects and the general buzzing when moving around cost like with literal movement sensors..up to 700 Dollar and more. They're made of special material to be durable during stunt fights, while still looking and sounding amazing. A lot of work, material and technical know how goes into these. Wouldn't expect much from a 150 $ one :p
It's true, I bought one at TRU almost fifteen years ago for $135 USD. They are durable but wouldn't survive a bunch of ten year olds using them.
They bought those from a website called ultrasaber you can buy ones that have sound when u hit them against each other on that website but they're like $200

That's because they received a lot of backlash for their roles in the prequels. Hayden quit acting for a time due to how much hatred he got for Anakin's story (it wasn't his fault the dialogue was so wooden).
@Tangent of circle. I agree. He did the best with what he had. Luckily they seem to be getting better with Star Wars lately, so maybe a future cameo won't be impossible (I hear rumors that Hayden appeared in the original cut of Rise of Skywalker but in the end Disney changed that scene)

I think he thought the green saber that was actually Luke’s from Return of the Jedi was the original Obi Wan lightsaber he used in A New Hope because their hilts look quite similar
@@SpoonDude Fun fact: Luke's saber in Return of the Jedi actually IS Obi-Wan's lightsaber from A New Hope. Same exact prop, but they tweaked it for ROTJ.
Well Obi-Wan did keep it for 19 years, so in a way you could say it was his, even though he kept it for Luke.
Spoon Dude they’re not similar, they’re actually exactly the same, same prop, they were even going to keep it blue but had to be changed to Green for ROTJ because of the sail barge scene.
Imagine Hayden was there, and those two just break out into their 30 minute long, choreographed, lightsaber battle. The audience just watching like: 👁️👄👁️👏
I know it was a given but when he started twirling it around and doing all the moves like he never forgot the training that he properly went through, I was amazed.
Have to imagine that he'll still be able to do all this in the Kenobi show
Considering they trained for half a year, and with such ferocity that they kept bending the training blades, I imagine it's muscle memory by now. Also probably everyone in his friends and family have challenged him to a fight by now lol

I can do this just from fencing training. Don't get me wrong, though, this isn't a diss on Mcgregor - it's a compliment. Even though I could do the exact same moves, I don't have Mcgregor's charisma or presence to make it look nearly as awesome as he does. It's really what makes him such a great actor, that he can preform even the simplest things with the jenesequa to make them amazing.
If you gave any sufficiently skilled fencer a GFX team, they could make a badass lightsaber fight. But none of us could bring to life the presence and character of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Mad respect to the man. A reminder of why I'm just a fencer and he's an a-list actor.

Keep Smiling! Count Dooku and Obis fighting styles aren’t even the same. Not to be “that guy”, but Dooku’s style was Makashi and he was the master of it. Obis was Soresu form 3 and he mastered it to become the master of Defense. Makashi is a fully offensive form they are two ways of combat that very different. Sorry for being a nerd

@@bomjur The green one is indeed Luke's but it's very similar to Obiwan's Ep4 lightsaber. Same general shape. I don't think they had any prequel Obiwan hilt toys back when that episode of the show was filmed.
