Mr Gadwantikar, your explanations have really helped me a lot. In fact, a mountainous amount of guidance I would say. You have explained way more clearer than my lecturers and finding a channel that would have all the videos of finite element method readily is a big rarity. Keep going ahead with more good stuff. sir in the element 3 support is inclined so i think we need to transform the displacement components from local to global axis.coz the stiffness matrix written in ur solution is for global axis
Dir sir. The form of stiffness matrix already deals with global coordinates x @ y . So u3 and v3 must be considered in x and y and not as indicate by the mister . Therefore u3 and v3 have a displacements tword x and y . I.e, v3 not zero. Thanks
the angle was you taken 45 but sin & cos 45 value is 0.707..... so i think it must be a angle of 30 degree 0.5 value is satisfied ... nice information from you sir

How come does V3 equal to 0 at 22:52 ? That roller at node3 makes an angle of 45 degree with global coordinate system. You just edit global K matrix with respect to local coordinate system at node 3. I believe this is a mistake, if not please explain this.
Before any boundary condition implementation, transformation should be made at the roller support with an angle. By doing this, corresponding component of the K matrix are transformed to local coordinate system with respect to corresponding element. After that boundary conditions will implemented. Solving the system will result transformed results for that node. Retransformation should be done to obtain results in global coordinate system. Tomorrow I will share a book which describes this procedure.
Sir in the element-3, l = cos45° that means, l =1/√2 ( which is the value of 'l' in the matrix ) but why you are substituting this value in the place of 'L' (which is the length of the 3rd element right 🤔) Reply me sir, i have an exam tomorrow
In this Problem , I don't think any 'I' there in the equation. Only we have the length of the element = L, Note : There is no difference in 'I' and L, both are same value.
If there is no difference between 'l' and 'L' , why don't you replace the 'L' value (as zero) with the value of 'l' in the element-1 ? ( Check the difference sir, L=1 and l=0 in the element 1)

How you calculated the area? Area means cross-section area of another area?

From the geometry of the fig, we have find out the length.

i also think he took wrong direction for U3 and V3 they should be in direction as x and y so V3 can't be zero

It's considered in the Problem.. Check Once

This wrong, coordinate of support 3 are rotated by 45 degree we have to consider that also
Sir this is wrong because one support is inclined..so we need to use another transformation matrix for that support..
Remember please when you teach a subject mention a subject name and which year you teach clearly mention in before starting video
-1² = -1 x -1 = +1
New method to solving the problem HOW?

you did not consider the fact that node 3 has an inclined support.

Why as engineers do we over complicate things. The idea of engineering is to make things easier not more difficult!! This is ridiculous!
the value of cos 45 is worng...The value of cos(45) is √2/2
1/√2 & √2/2 both are the same🙏
The node 3 has skewed support. The displacements in node 3 have to be transformed to global axis. Your solution is wrong.
