      Should do a fan day out thing and have people who attend donate cash to a charity of your choice. 🍻

    Tried to drive out there back in January. A ranger came up waving his hands frantically and told me the road from Caves Rd to Contos was rooted. I’m glad to see it’s all fixed.

    That campsite at Whistlers was the exact one we had all our gear set up when the fires came through. Still don't know how it survived without even an ember burn the the firies did an amazing job. We haven't been back in since we got the gear out after the fires were under control. Looks so different in your vid, used to be all rather dark and shady through that area and now it is all opened up.

    • @westralianoffroad
      @westralianoffroad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Quite remarkable they held the fire out!

      @@westralianoffroad It certainly was. We were down in Augusta watching the reports on the internet and seeing the fire front get closer and closer. no way we thought we would ever see our gear again.

    I was down at Contos camp grounds about 6 weeks ago, and while everyone was chilling with drinks after camp setup on the first day, i head back out to the access road and found a track that headed north from there. Same thing though, canopy all gone, but the regrowth was encouraging everywhere. Awesome to see in your panning drone shot that Hamelin Island stands out. Have you ever accessed Boranup beach from the North/ west end before? I could never find the safe way down, I only know of Bobs Track. Loving the content buddy, relaxed and focused on enjoying nature for what it is :)

    • @westralianoffroad
      @westralianoffroad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks mate I appreciate it. No I’ve not accessed that stretch other than from Bobs Track. It only goes as far north as the cliff there at North Point. From what I’m aware there’s no other way down.
