After a concert in Jaipur, in 1977 when he came to know that there was no proper road to his native village where he was born, he donated the entire collection from sale of tickets as contribution towards the construction of road to his village. Those days the amount was around Rs 2.00 lakhs. When he was unwell around 2000 our prime minister late AB Vajpai who was great fan of the maestro sent financial help as goodwill gesture and also requested the Pakistan Govt to send him to India if he wanted for treatment.
