    • @sebione3576
      @sebione3576 ปีที่แล้ว +34

      Actually, the lotus chassis had to be completely redesigned because it was not designed with electric motors or the weight of a massive battery pack in mind. The engineers at Tesla regretted using the lotus body, because it turned out to be more work to modify than building their own from scratch. There are few moving parts on an electric car. With gas you get the initial flash if the vapors are aloud to build up witch only lasts for like half a second after that you just have an open flame that will burn at around 500 degrees and is very easy to put out or at least contain its also impossible for liquid gasoline to burn I've caught gas tanks and cans of fire plenty of times and they'll literally burn like candles. A lithium ion battery burns at about 6000 degrees they literally melt the roads underneath them when they do and they burn for hours because a chain reaction happens when the cells rupture its like the world's best Roman candle when they go off.

    This is why the legacy auto manufacturers are SCREWED. They dont really make profit off selling cars, they make profit off spare parts and financing. Since EVs are so simple, maintenance costs are minimal. So the spare parts racket will disappear.

    Been doing mechanic work off and on for 15 years now, and I can say with all honesty, ANY AND ALL SUSPENSION FROM A MODEL A TO A CATERPILLAR DUMP TRUCK IS SIMPLE. The hardest part about replacing my shocks and struts in my 03 Sante Fe was holding the damn things up since I did the job myself.
    Wait til you have to service the 32 amp side of things, and tell me it's simple. 1 amp is more than enough to kill you. 32 you'll be a corpse before you feel a thing or even twitch.
