As the song says, “I bless the day I found you...”. The best part of this video is your demo/usage of each product on your eyes, and this is ever so helpful. We need more people like you who know the products that work on mature lids. I now have learned about new products I did not know about before and I thank you for not hanging on to those shadows and such that every YTr reviews day-in and day-out just to hook in subscribers. I understand from Tamara’s video that you are celebrating a birthday. Happy Birthday!! I have hooded eyes too and have been very hesitant to try one and done eyeshadow looks because I like some shimmer on my eyelid and need some matte shadow on the bulge of the hood. I’m curious about what you will show here.
I'm the same way. I'm afraid some of my examples were not "full looks" but maybe I'll do another video with just one or two products and explain technique!

Yes, I also watch Tamara and her house and garden are lovely. You are lucky to have found such a great friend. Sadly, I lost both of my best girl friends to cancer. Thank goodness I have a wonderful husband, who has also become my new best friend. Great video! I love one and done shadows. I’m 65, so I have all of the mature eye features! 😎
Great video! I dont often do one and done looks either, but when I have I've always used the Makeup Geek matte single in Getting Figgy with it. Its just a beautiful neutral leaning plum color; more brown than plum. Dark enough to contour, but not so dark that the smokey eye I do with it looks nightime only. TY for sharing Tamara's channel, i love her makeup style and if she can achieve that with drugstore products I must know what she's using!

One & done are my favorites. Thanks for some new ideas - especially matte. A little shimmer is ok for my eyes, but full-on glitter is not going to work on my 64 yr old eyes, no matter how well I moisturize them!

I too really like “one & done” eyeshadow, though recently I’ve been having a lot of fun putting on eyeshadow, sometimes it’s nice to be fast. Personally I use the Ilia liquid eyeshadow. I have the green color and one of the brown-copper tones. They tend to look best when I put the shadow straight on the lid then blend out with a brush. I’d like to try the Kosas as well, but I agree with you that it would be really nice to have a matte option.

I found at age 57, less is best. I have been using the Bareminerals Complexion Rescue as an easy, quick moisturizer & light foundation then use cream blush, mascara and then Burt’s Bees eye liner or a brown nude shadow look with the palette Nudes and then an Elizabeth Arden Cream Lip Protectant with a tint. Takes me 5 min for a put together look.

I’ve heard such good things and so many colors, I believe on her site she has a bunch of matte ones. I’m hooded as well so I like the idea of cream shadows that set up well! Thanks for these ideas!! You’ve inspired me to do a one and done tomorrow so thank you!
They are really good and you can use them as blush as well - kind of a multi-media product. The best selection is probably on her site, though you can find at Sephora and Beautylish as well!

I liked the way to reviewed the different shadows. So interesting. I can't get used to the idea of pink or peach eyes. I've got a cool complexion so the peach and pink just looks like someone socked me. I notice you have a light shadow on your mobile lid over the pink. It looks good.

What a great idea to mix eye primer with other mediums of eye colour. And the Danessa Myricks colours look so versatile. I have used highlighters as eye shadow with great effect and as a sparkly pop of colour. Natasha Denona's face palettes from the last two years work really well for this purpose. Loved this! I have very hooded lids and typically when people say oh it doesn't crease or move, I end up buying and trying it and it does crease on me, of transfer. I also have the issue with mascara transferring to my brow bone, so mascara recommendations are always welcome too!
So glad! I sometimes have mascara issues (more often it's me who messed up, though). It's tough because me favorite "look" is the Kush Mascara - but it transfers. My favorite mascara is discontinued. So I'm using little sample of Ilia and Chanel and full sized Kush right now.

I love your videos. As a 57 year old woman with your skin color and hooded lids . You are such a great resource ! I wonder if shimmery eye shadow enhances crepe skin ? Is cream better? Matte?
I think shimmery shades can enhance crepey skin - but not all do. The smooth to the touch shades work much better than shades that feel chunky. Mattes can also enhances crepey skin IF the formula is drying. So...it's a matter of trying different formulas. I'm working on another video of one and done shadows for next week!

I use the MAC paint pot in Groundwork as a all over shadow. I don’t prefer shimmers because of transfer and emphasis of texture. I do wish companies would create more matte creams.
Bobbi Brown has some, I think. Which is to say, I hAVE some from Bobbi Brown (sticks and pots) but they are so old I didn't include them and I'm not sure they make them anymore!
As a woman of a certain age I very much appreciate this review. I have the Chanel Stylo in Khaki and I highly recommend it. I can’t wait to try some of your suggestions.

Hi, I just found your channel from Tamara’s. I am in my late 30’s with severally hooded, droopy lids. You can not see my lids as my hood goes all the way to my lashes. It is discouraging when I find a channel that claims to have hooded lids then I see that it is barely hooded so it doesn’t help me. Looking forward to exploring your channel & hopefully finding some techniques that will help!!!
I'm so glad you found me...I'm the same way, I click on a "hooded lid" technique and watch for a bit before I realize - nope - won't work on me!
