Digimon Director: You know what I was thinking the exact same thing, great idea!
Me who barely knows a thing about Digimon:............Huh?!..........
Digimon Designer: I also want to leave the front of the mecha suit open, so we can see her bathing suit.
Digimon Director: Marry me.
Digimon Director: Also make it a reference to Journey to the West.
Digimon Designer: Obviously! Is there a world where I wouldn't do that?
@@valkyriedarkwar3505 But also make it terrifying but maybe just a Sailor Moon character
I just want to know how they turn into an adult human from animals (and possibly mythical beings)... What happen to their organs... Imagine if thats us.. One day you have claws and big ears with good hearing then next.. Youre a human.. I get theyre digital... But they are also physical.. Like.. They are interactable.. They have their own minds.. They are sentient... They.. Dont they feel what happened to their bodies even if they dont have organs... I think i saw them drink.. But maybe thats them in the digital universe
@@yuki97kira well, they’re made from data, so it’s literally just them being stripped of all physical attribute data and acquiring new data on what form to take. For instance, there’s a Digimon whose physical body uses so much data that it cannot take physical form inside the digital world.
Why do I feel like we’re slowly shifting into Nathan’s nightmare arc. First the thing he drew in the recent google-translated Pokédex entry episode and now the hand feet.
We need another Julia Pokémon episode to bring back balance.
43:02 I'm always a big fan when Nathan does the singular "HA!".
Their reaction to the reveal gives me life. I have no clue about Digimon but I've somehow gained a lot of respect for the franchise after witnessing the brilliance that is Soulmon.
YES
I love this. Especially at the end of Jacobs when they are talking about the "rules" and you just hear a little whispered "unless" from Karina. Foreshadowing at its finest
Time stamp plz :3
Nvm, I found it 29:13 - 29:24
Thank you for finding it!!!
I honestly can’t believe that Julia was given soulmon and just started by drawing a witch’s hat on a ghost
Like. She got shockingly close.
Fun fact: Nathan drew a puppet Digimon with a foot hand and they're actually exists one of those already and it happens to be related to the Etemon line. I believe it is Targetmon? But I might be wrong.
You’re actually right it is
Or well it’s not related to etemon it’s related to huckmon and zubamon
We’re always wrong…
my first thought upon seeing Opossumon was "are the balloons also part of the Digimon?" so when Nathan was roasted for suggesting they had souls I felt PERSONALLY ATTACKED
yes the balloons are part of the digimon
THIS
Nathan’s reaction to Karina revealing the Digimon Julia was supposed to draw was incredible. So much meaning in such a short expression 😂😂 cracked me up
I will NEVER get tired of the "they're just like us" bit. Anyone who's tired of it is wrong.
Agreed
But the people who are tired of the bit, "they’re just like us"
@@obviousalias132 I think you mean Who needs them!
Agreed! We've all got em!
Every time I hear "They're just like us" my digimon evolves.
who needs em rlly evolves my digimon
I just want a shirt that says “they’re just like us” and nothing else. No reference to drawfee
I thought you meant you were like going to state this out in public
I request a "They're just like us" pin
I request the back to say “Who needs em”
Without context that message reads both as inspiring and vaguely ominous/creepy.. It's the Rorschach inkblot of message tees. You get out of it what you bring to the table.
@@booksandcleverness9666 "Who needs em" just completes the experience
Solid primary shirt color, no caps in the words, comic sans
So many demands for David in this episode, bless their soul for making the full Drawfee experience a delight
"This is the skull of a giant catboy who died!"
*cries in Leomon*
"One of it's moves is Dark Claw!"
That seems like the most normal move so far!
"It pulls the enemy all the way to hell!"
Okay--
"Finishing Trance"
Okay, so a mind control attack?
"Drops a huge skull on the enemy."
Okay--
Honestly in the Japanese version of the show there's so many references to falling/being dragged to Hell. It's kinda weird tbh
@@exzyyd392 afaik, a lot of Japanese manga and anime creators put references to Christianity just cause they like the aesthetic
Which is really funny to me
@@xenodragonlord6007I mean some of the Catholic iconography makes for phenomenal fantasy aesthetics.
@@KenadianKenough it does! I agree!
When Karina said Julia's Digimon was "so middle school" I felt that. Because I drew something similar back then minus the giant Cat Boy skull
David absolutely slayed it this episode. So many references, and they did great popping em in. One of my favorite episodes in awhile (their digimon were great too!)
Everytime they say "they're just like us" my digimon evolves
This really waters my crops
I'm getting a pet snake and y'know I think my digimon's evolving
I fucking love Drawfee. There's just an energy and vibes that I resonate with that I don't get anywhere else
Same
God I feel that so much
It's because even when they're roasting each other, they're having a good time. All of their energy is so positive all the time. You can definitely tell that they genuinely enjoy hanging out and making videos with each other and it's so wholesome.
when people think you have to be mean to be funny just show them this
The entire journey of this episode is so good. The build up of the first two not being anything like their pre-evolution ends into the perfection of Julia's turn and it's perfect. Y'all aren't just artists, y'all're entertainers, and damn good entertainers at that!
18:20 "THAT POSSUM WAS JELLICILE!" "Yeah! He floated up to heaven and pole-danced back down!" God, I've fucking missed watching Drawfee
I love when Karina talks like that one kid who had access to the internet early on and knows way more about everything.
"The possum was the jellicle choice!"
I mean... Opossummon DOES evolve from Gatomon so...maybe?
what
Soulmon just broke everyone's soul in this episode. Wow.
The fact they were right, it's just a really bad clip art hat in a different style on the digimon, it broke a lot of people here too
Suggestion: draw random expressions as people. For example, “you’d have to pry it from my cold, dead, hands” or “two birds with one stone”. I could probably think of some better ones, but it’s 1am and my mind isn’t functioning correctly
Yes idiomatic expressions are perfect for drawfee! If you want to heck it up more, use direct translatios of idiomatic expressions from other languages.
That’s peak creativity hours right there!
I really hope, they'll do this
"Bend over backwards"
"Beat around the bush"
"Wrap your head around it"
the comedic genius of the soulmon reveal will go down in history
Julia wasn't gonna draw him as an accessory, she just said that to seem normal. She *was* gonna draw him as an accessory to murder
Also, I just need to show some appreciation for David! Really enjoying the multitude of gags you are willing to suffer through for our enjoyment
I had the same thought !
Appallingly Flat Newman
@@burneyarts Absolutely appalling!
Suggestion: Draw balloons, but if they had souls.
Yes please!
Who's to say balloons don't have souls? That's not very nice.
How dare you
drifloon?
Xander my guy you better watch out
"Pen is hand" is so close to being dangerous
Yes
Yeah, they should have learned from Pen Island!
Oh man I was like ''how ?'' then I read it again slowly
Pen15
He's definitely in the PEN 15 club.
Julia quietly muttering to herself “what have I done”
Jacob and Karina's avatars facing each other, everyone roasting Nathan for something stupid, David's edits and the Soulmon reveal at the end completely breaking Julia make this a perfect Drawfee episode. Great job, guys!
Julia liking the Big O makes so much sense, with her liking Batman: the Animated Series and Gundam.
It has hot sharp angular men in 2 of them, and then, sharp angular masculine looking Mecha in 2 of them. It's perfect.
Truly since big O is literally batman with a gundam
Do a, "Make-up Work," episode where everyone draws a prompt or challenge they either missed or hosted! 💖
Julia forgot Rule 4 of Digimon design: There are no rules.
No that was the 2nd one 27:25
42:09 Okay, but remember, you asked for this: catgirls/catboys are typically depicted as having cat ears instead of regular ears, _or_ having two sets of ears. In either case, while the ears themselves are cartilagenous, the passageways to carry sound to the brain aren't, so a catgirl/catboy skull would be easily identifiable by the location and/or number of ear canals.
Is david getting a bonus for this ep?
They should get a bonus for this ep.
They need a bonus for every episode tbh 😅
@@itsgrace717pretty sure that's just a raise :p
This whole video was such a brilliant setup for that hilarious reveal
This video really waters my crops and evolves my digis
Suggestion from HalCG:
Please draw evolutionary lines for Julia’s “Pokémon”
Love this
It would just be an older man 😄
@@frostyflames7864 They already did Spheal's evolutionary line
They should do an evolution on Strong Frasier
@@Diabetic64 which spheal?
Lies! I never get tired of the ‘They’re just like us’ bit!
Like Cats 2019 bit, its better with age😂
Rewatching this episode after over 2 years and several times rewatching I just realized Julia put a patch on her guys shoulder that just says BAND
Karina's explanation of digimon evolution lines will forever be one of my favorite things ever to come out of drawfee and the accompanying visual was FANTASTIC
DIGIMON EVOLUTION IS RIDICULOUS OMG
the stuff they were saying about ruining the drawfee vocabulary, I really need them to know that my sibling and I literally say "could you believe to learn?" to each other all the time
Lol this is so wholesome my digimon evolved
I myself am partial to the term “friend shaped”
Who do I know this man?
I'm so glad that just before soulmon they discussed how the prevolution is a trick. Then its just a ghost with a hat.
"They're just like us" is cool, but "We live in a society" is my favorite recurrent joke.
True
Maybe my favorite recurrent joke is the friends we made along the way.
I'm personally a fan of "(name) is *married*" though that mostly shows up in streams
34:35 actually Bandai have contests all the time where they turn fan submissions into real Digimon. The first example that comes mind is Soundbirdmon which was a fan design and it ended up serving a purpose in two different Digimon anime.
Nathan's artwork has improved so much!! Like he was good to begin with obviously, but that render blew me away, it's so good! All the colours come together so nicely on this busy design and pull the whole thing together, it's *chef's kiss* so polished
Right? Its crazy to see his progress since it was just him n caldwell
"They're just like us" and "Who needs 'em?" are staples of this channel and should NEVER be removed under penalty of a one way ticket to the shadow realm
Soulmon WILL drag you down to hell
Do you know the origin of these staples? I can't recall
You asked Julia to draw Digimon evolutions. This will be historic
it looks like a real digimon
@@literallyglados no it has too much internal consistency to be a digimon
I can't stop laughing at Soulmon being just Bakemon wearing a hat.
@@flabbergasterisk Especially after they'd _just_ come to the agreement that digimon evolutions have _nothing_ in common with their previous forms. I know the word "irony" gets misused often, but I think this is actual situational irony
I burst out laughing when Karina revealed that Soulmon was Julia's digimon.
it was both a genius decision and just the worst mislead she could have done. it was beautiful
"they're just like us" "who needs 'em" is one of my favourite bits actually

The Soulmon jebait was great. Knowing what soulmon was and waht it looked like ahead of time made the whole drawing made it all the better.
