I just planted one in ground last month. It was in a 5 gallon container for about a year. Before planting, I harvested just over a dozen. My wife loved them. Can’t wait for next season. Thanks for sharing your story. I’ll wait later in March next time.

Love your tree profiles - they are the best. I've got a 1-year-old Gold Nugget so I've got a few years before it produces much fruit, but I can't wait.

I had never heard of these before and found them in Walmart of all places. It’s the best tasting mandarin/orange since it’s as big as an orange to me that I have ever tasted so far that is. It’s exactly as you described. I’m going to order a dwarf stock tree and grow it indoors until it’s big enough to plant outside.

Very impressive fruit set! Hopefully it does well up here up North. Mine hasn't fruited yet but is very vigorous. Thanks for sharing!

Great video as always! I have a page mandarin that is a few years old and a couple varieties of kumquat. Your tree's leaves look so heathy, mine have some yellowing. Just curious what you think the deficiency could be. I'm in South OC.
Thanks for all the great videos!

Hi Scott, Mine definitely have some yellowing too. Some of my other citrus have more. Everything will be green in June, once the soil is warm. Don't worry much about slight yellowing of citrus foliage this time of year; it's mostly because of cold soil. Do worry if it's yellow in June.

I was looking at a nursery site and they have this marked down to planting zone 2. Is this true?

USDA Zone 2? No chance. Gold Nugget is as tolerant of cold as most other mandarins, as far as I've seen, meaning it gets damaged starting in the mid to upper 20s.
