There's a bit of misinformation here. The new quantum jump mechanics are not confirmed nor are they even mentioned. They won't be included 'just because'. The fps scopes are not picture-in-picture. Star Citizen Live | All About Alpha 3.23 Devs: JJ, Andre and Nick Notable Information: ➣ Jared introduced the first guest and went through their history with the company ➣ Most of the features talked about today are expected for 3.23 ➣ There are surprise features and items that are coming with the build that we will not see beforehand ➣ They spoke on the new EVA system which was discussed in yesterday's ISC ➣ EVA fuel and Zero-G traversal is not coming with 3.23 ➣ Next up was PIE/PIS which was also detailed in yesterday's ISC ➣ Distribution centers expected for 3.23. ➣ These DCs will have unique layouts and be owned by different factions on release. This will come with missions and activities available at the locations. ➣ Development will continue on them over time like other locations and features. ➣ Master modes will have a lengthier ISC in the future and is progressing forward. ➣ The closer style of combat allows the game to shine in both the action and the visuals. ➣ Precision targeting will bring back the ability to attack specific components or parts of a ship. ➣ A majority of weapons will have gimbals with MM except for ones that their design just simply doesn't call for it (Idris railgun, Vanguard nose gun, etc.). This will include turrets and they will start to behave more like regular ship guns. ➣ The size restriction on gimbals is going away so you won't need to size down to use the gimbal. ➣ Magazine repacking dynamic crosshairs, and other FPS weapon QoL will be coming with 3.23. ➣ Long-term, armors and specific suits will have different benefits to different activities such as combat, engineering, medical, etc. ➣ Changes to the visor and lenses will be coming in 3.23 alongside changes to the HUD which include compass, minimap, etc. ➣ Updated Starmap in 3.23 including search features, better visual layout, and many other QoL improvements. ➣ New character scans and updated character customizer also coming with 3.23. You will have two ways of customizing your character; the standard DNA mixer as we have now and a more fine tune editor that allows you to more manually customize them. ➣ Makeup, hair dye, other other unique customizers coming with it. ➣ Freight elevators, instanced hangars, and improved overall cargo experience on the list as well. ➣ Blockade runner mission, big Xenothreat update, and pre-Xenothreat type event all coming on the mission front. ➣ New looting system seen at Citizencon coming alongside new shopping app. ➣ Jared introduced Andre and Nick for the economy discussion. ➣ The economy is much more than simply a background function that enables gameplay, it is meant to truly immerse the player and make them feel like a part of a connected world. ➣ There will be substantial changes to prices in 3.23 that have been determined after a long process of trying different methods. For example, a Pisces C8R is expected to cost in the ballpark of 500k aUEC, Arrow 2mil aUEC, Constellation 10mil aUEC, Hammerhead 40-50mil aUEC, 890 Jump 70-80million aUEC. ➣ Next week's ISC will be exploring a team we don't often see. This post was written by hencaric
As a very new player this update, especially map will be huge. Its very tedious to fly into space and try to warp to other areas due to clunkiness of current system. Cant wait.
I really wanna see a feature where you as an individual on the ground can buy an attachment or a dedicated bit of equipment that can be use to “paint” a target for ships to then allow missiles and torpedos to lock onto ground targets
The new patch has me excited and worried at the same time. The new QoL features are amazing and we are in dire need of them. But then they´re adding more server load with new distribution centers and reworked, bigger events like Xeno Threat. Don´t get me wrong, I want those too but without meshing it´ll most likely just deteriorate the server performance even faster. Server meshing can´t come fast enough ...
in 2019 i spent an ungodly amount of money on this game, and even then the hype was its gonna release soon... honestly i have given up on this thing, if it comes out good, but i dont care anymore....and the whole super realism thing i dont think i will have time for it, spending an hour just to load things personally onto my ship, just feels like a waste of time
ma dude used crazy pace and star citizen in the same sentence while the cgi bros have been "remodeling" a single ship interior for five years (600i) i'm dead lol
Holy shit, if Base Building comes to this game (which I didn't know was coming at all) I will be very very excited. This game will literally become my dream game is this happens
I'm exited about PIP, it looks really good in the lines of Squad maybe even better. I hope they someday fully go in FPS realism in combat. Some patches its close and some patches not so much lol but this one looks nice. Lets hope they fix the damage on some of the calibers AND GIVE ME MY DAMN P8 ALREADY!!
The best thing and worst thing about SC is how integrated the servers are with every little thing. On the one hand, it allows for the building of a truly immersive experience. On the other hand, local client-side performance suffers when the servers are being strained (which is a lot of the time).
I'll believe it when it's on live, working, and stable. Excluding fluff like 'a cross-hair that points where your gun does' the biggest items I'm looking forward to are 'a functional star map' and a mini-map.
all the fps updates and the distribution centers is definitely top for me. i remember the distribution centers nearly a year ago and def wanted to see those.
Adding weapon/suits/gear saving to the insurance function for the lockers on ships is needed, it made a big change for the positive to how we played with gear and the rarer to find stuff. All they need to stop is the Duping and we are golden.. it was a nice period to see people using everything instead of just hording and hiding it all never to be used. But most of all... we need reasons to play long term not just tiny snipits of tier 0 content ideas copy pasted everywhere.
I am really hoping that mining, specifically gem mining, gets an overhaul. The grey cat ROC is unplayable in its current state: not being able to make it up small bumbs in the terrain, getting stuck and clipping into the ramp of the cutlass black, and it's mining arm simply not deploying and getting stuck on the frame of the vehicle. Mining gems is frustrating, as extracting the gems off the ground will send them flying 50meters past the vehicle. The storage container built into the grey cat glitches and the inventory stored within becomes un retrievable. Mining is one of the most important game-loops for making money. It has a relatively low initial investment, and does not take a ton of skill to perform. The most common and what should be simple way of making money is in a completely broken state, and seems to be getting worse with each patch. I hope they give some love to the gem miners!
I hope freight missions come in with the new hangar system. I'd just like to space truck around the system without buying and selling, or running the same route every time.
The persistent hangers and EVA are my top two. It would be nice to see a working star map and basic buildings construction wise but that leads into land rights which I believe CIG does not want to deal with at this time.
Master Modes... but without a) flight surfaces in atmo or b) inertia in space flight. CIG didn't mention 'new Quantum Travel Mode tho right? Or did I miss that?
I am curious because its been about a year since I had it installed and got online, are there any actual game loops to play yet? last time I was on it just felt like there was nothing to actually do beyond the usual window shop for gear and then die to a game breaking bug and lose it all 10 minutes later while heading to a bunker mission.
Hauling, pirating, mining, salvage, medical game play, bounty hunting on foot or ship based, trading, pvp / pve fps or ship combat, racing..theres alot and 3.23 will flesh it out even more
As I can see from the 2:28 , the ui is still a thing they need to patch instead of realeasing new features, half of the bloody crosshair is covered by the dashboard.
We need to be able to buy stuff through our mobiglass, and get them delivered to our hangar. It’s exhausting to make a 10 minute jump just to by a ship part, then 5 more for guns. It’s in 2948 and you still can’t buy stuff online, fucking ridiculous. I hope one day they’ll realize that SC isn’t played by kids who got 5 hours a day to play, most of us got shit to do
people keep getting things mixed up about the EVA system coming. the new EVA system will be in 3.23, but the FUEL and PUSH/PULL system won't be added till a later patch. so you'll have unlimited fuel until at least until a later patch.
I really doubt it's base building that they're keeping as more of a surprise. Some boid/creature stuff would be my guess. Also some people are predicting 3.23 as late as june, if that was the case we would go half a year without a new major patch and I feel they would rather push some futures to another patch than wait that long. They already did a small 3.23 test in Evo, albeit without any new namesake features afaik. In my eyes 3.23 feels more like 4.0 than 4.0. Pyro is cool, but new locations in and of themselves don't do much, I've barely visited the new settlements added, gameplay is king.
I wish weather effects in this game big storms, lighning, lava, ocean waves ... more more and more clouds and more interesting dailly contracts. a real use for toilet af
Imagine what this game would be without squadron. We'd have 50 system by now and two years post release. Squadron was a 600 million dollar bottomless pit of hell
Haven't played for 3 years started on v3.23. 0a and I was pleasantly surprised still a little buggy but playable the last 3 days I made 300k, casually playing, then.... I heard v3.23 was on the horizon let's just say my hopes where dashed, once it's released it's gonna go back to being unplayable, server crashes, huge amount of bugs and this is where the problem comes in, expectations, the game in general looking so good and promises so much in alpha, it has its moments of playability then along comes an update and just kills the momentum. SC Devs, a little bit of advise... Sooner rather than later, otherwise the bread gets stale.
This is not some new tech they're trying to get out the door. This is stuff already developed. It's just a matter of porting it over from Squadrin 42. Multi-player is already included as Squadrin 42 will have co-op missions. Most stuff like radar just needs some additional data added for all the other additional ships in the verse (labeling meta data). 2024 is a whole new era for the game. Everything changes.
I'd like to say that expecting 50% of what is promised to be delivered is delirious optimism. 25% is more realistic, but deep down in my soul I expect only about 10% of what was promised to be delivered. I have zero faith in CIG delivering anything at all. I still cannot believe we have no release date for SQ42. It is literally the only thing that will rekindle any kind of belief in the project for me.
your opening statement is true most of what we saw will not be in the patch another huge letdown and more lies from sc, and what is added will not work , the game as it stands now does not work , but no worries its onlt beeb 15 years
T0 base building being part of 3.23 is so entirely unbelievable I see no chance of it being here, at cit con they said that thay were just starting it in Q1 2024, a deplayable version in a month would be ridiculous.
So the people that said they were going to do stuff in the past and didn't do it are now saying they're going to do stuff. I'll believe it when it's in the game.
I always am, but it's unlikely. Much of the performance is server based at the moment. The optimization will likely come when Vulkan is fully implemented.
I'm sure I will be taking a age to create my perfect character, probably as a self look alike. It would be great if they let you export it to a file, so then when you have a full wipe, you can simple import the character file.
Expending the universe is great new features are welcome. The problem is that half if not more of the existing missions in the here and now are broken. At this point i only fly bounty missions, nothing else seem to work, at least for me. i do enjoy the flight but if i want a little FPS i cant do it. And the bugs, my God, they seem to multiply by the day. I passionately love this game, and i am patient. But for the love of God, before expending into new territory the existing problems should be fixed too.
Too much in this patch to remember and envision the changes character creator starmap new interaction/looting/crosshair/scopes EVA Master modes/gimbal/precision mode distribution centers and their missions personal hangars/freight elevators xenothreat eco changes my guess is first creatures not completely game changing, but most of the broken/lacking features will be good. Gameplay isn't really gonna be different at all though, besides master modes changing up ships a bit. Distribution center missions but it's just basic functionality. Not really adding much to do this patch, but if pyro is still coming this summer it's the perfect patch to set that up
I dont know if its gonna be a dumpsterfire necessarily. These systems have been developed and supposedly pretty refined for squadron, so apart from the networking it might not be that big of a suckerpunch.
anyone else really bummed about master modes? the arbitrary speed limit might completely ruin the game for me tbh. planets and moons already had atmosphere that slowed speed down and allowed for that type of combat, why make a fake, immersion-ruining mode that forces ALL combat to be like that? flying around in arena commander in scm mode just really bummed me out, i felt like i was flying in glue and could never either chase or run away in an effective way.
Been backing for about 9 years now and this is without a doubt the update I’ve been waiting for. Now to just get my Polaris released into the game and I’ll be complete.

Star Citizen and that kind of lines up.. theres Star Citizen, and then theres 'everything else'. If the players of the other games didnt agree - they wouldnt be abandoning their own games and pouring into SC to the point where SC breaks its player count and funding records every year while those others drop and drop and drop.
TH-cam vids, Twitch Streams and the demos and vids CIG put out are cool - but the real mover is that FreeFly they do a couple times per year.. one is coming up soon. You already know how this will go ... Hundreds upon Hundreds of players from all the other space games and other people who got curious about SC when they saw citcon or some YT vid covering it will download it to see if their rig can even run the game... because according to comment sections it takes 4 RTX 4090's and you probably wont make it 4 steps out of your hab bed before you have a game crash or fall through the floor to your death ..so they load it up and even before the 7 day freefly is over, they already bought a starter package
@@raffaelefrancescomancino6566
@@raffaelefrancescomancino6566 this is a harsh truth 😳
You're making me hate the game already..
But that's the case then I should wait until they fix those issues.. I'm wondering.. their budget exceeds 700 million dollars.. what are they doing with all that money? How come that the game is unfinished yet? But to put all that aside, the game looks better than ever.. that's what makes me happy 😊
Thank you for your review.. Salute O7.
There's a bit of misinformation here. The new quantum jump mechanics are not confirmed nor are they even mentioned. They won't be included 'just because'. The fps scopes are not picture-in-picture. That would take up too many resources.
Mentioning base building is so stupid its almost irresponsible. There's so much coming in this patch and base building is not even in the pipeline yet. We're not getting base building for years.
They say it's for "next patch" but we all know this is their target for this year.
Star Citizen Live | All About Alpha 3.23
Devs: JJ, Andre and Nick
Notable Information:
➣ Jared introduced the first guest and went through their history with the company
➣ Most of the features talked about today are expected for 3.23
➣ There are surprise features and items that are coming with the build that we will not see beforehand
➣ They spoke on the new EVA system which was discussed in yesterday's ISC
➣ EVA fuel and Zero-G traversal is not coming with 3.23
➣ Next up was PIE/PIS which was also detailed in yesterday's ISC
➣ Distribution centers expected for 3.23.

EVA IS NOT IN 3.23 STOP LIEING
There’s never been a game or mmo like this, if cig pull off what they want this year it will be the dream space game released or not
Sounds like the extra experienced manpower from SQ42 is boosting SC development.
All I need is that sexy new Star Map! Anything else is just the cherry on top!
Question for the hardcore star citizen fans: When do you think this game will release in a mostly feature complete state?
Server meshing can´t come fast enough ...
in 2019 i spent an ungodly amount of money on this game, and even then the hype was its gonna release soon... honestly i have given up on this thing, if it comes out good, but i dont care anymore....and the whole super realism thing i dont think i will have time for it, spending an hour just to load things personally onto my ship, just feels like a waste of time
"is going to be", "seems". Right.
ma dude used crazy pace and star citizen in the same sentence while the cgi bros have been "remodeling" a single ship interior for five years (600i) i'm dead lol
Starmap is the biggest one for me. I am so sick of batteling the current one.
So you’re telling me they might add bases but not fix elevators yea some priorities are off for sure
UI alone is going to make the game 100% more enjoyable especially since pvp is a favorite niche for me
I'm really excited for the updated mobiglass/star map, freight elevators and pis/pie
Master Modes... but without a) flight surfaces in atmo or b) inertia in space flight. CIG didn't mention 'new Quantum Travel Mode tho right? Or did I miss that?
You have inertia in space if you're flying decoupled though, right?
If I keep adding THRUST in space@@AbuN4z1r I should continue to accelerate tho, right?
You've missed the biggest addition to the game: Cargo Elevators. They will change the game completely.
cant wait to play the game with my grandkids when it finally releases!
I am curious because its been about a year since I had it installed and got online, are there any actual game loops to play yet? last time I was on it just felt like there was nothing to actually do beyond the usual window shop for gear and then die to a game breaking bug and lose it all 10 minutes later while heading to a bunker mission.
Hauling, pirating, mining, salvage, medical game play, bounty hunting on foot or ship based, trading, pvp / pve fps or ship combat, racing..theres alot and 3.23 will flesh it out even more
Don't do bunker missions there's a lot of stuff to do that's fun
Hangar. Gimme personal hangar.
I rather hope that the “surprises” are creatures. It would be cool for the community to ‘naturally’ discover them roaming around the verse…
We're going to need more server tick rate boss
As I can see from the 2:28 , the ui is still a thing they need to patch instead of realeasing new features, half of the bloody crosshair is covered by the dashboard.
We need to be able to buy stuff through our mobiglass, and get them delivered to our hangar. It’s exhausting to make a 10 minute jump just to by a ship part, then 5 more for guns. It’s in 2948 and you still can’t buy stuff online, fucking ridiculous.
I hope one day they’ll realize that SC isn’t played by kids who got 5 hours a day to play, most of us got shit to do
Me waiting for Pyro drooling
Appreciate your not dropping the referral code here, cheers bud
people keep getting things mixed up about the EVA system coming. the new EVA system will be in 3.23, but the FUEL and PUSH/PULL system won't be added till a later patch. so you'll have unlimited fuel until at least until a later patch.
Loot and faction upgrades as well as mastermodes are my favs.
This patch will get me back in the game even if only 25% gets added
I hope everyone realises that the amount of bugs will absolutely explode in the beginning with so many new untested features getting added to live.
I wish weather effects in this game big storms, lighning, lava, ocean waves ... more more and more clouds and more interesting dailly contracts. a real use for toilet af
This is so awesome, excited!
Imagine what this game would be without squadron. We'd have 50 system by now and two years post release. Squadron was a 600 million dollar bottomless pit of hell
This content is awesome, cant wait for the upates!
Love the new content and gameplay. But without server meshing in full effect, I'll have to pass until it's implemented.
I kinda hope that they add support to the economy in a way where it could turn into something like in EVE Online.
cant wait for the update
Haven't played for 3 years started on v3.23. 0a and I was pleasantly surprised still a little buggy but playable the last 3 days I made 300k, casually playing, then.... I heard v3.23 was on the horizon let's just say my hopes where dashed, once it's released it's gonna go back to being unplayable, server crashes, huge amount of bugs and this is where the problem comes in, expectations, the game in general looking so good and promises so much in alpha, it has its moments of playability then along comes an update and just kills the momentum. SC Devs, a little bit of advise... Sooner rather than later, otherwise the bread gets stale.
wow i hope they read this so they know that they have what..like 90 days tops, you think? gtfo
If they’re not updating them the project doesn’t progress. Thats part of the delal
@@BradAhrensi dont think you understand how bread works. Weak....
Hopefully it goes smoothly, just like 3.18
geez, LOOKING GOOD, i might start playing again
This is not some new tech they're trying to get out the door. This is stuff already developed. It's just a matter of porting it over from Squadrin 42. Multi-player is already included as Squadrin 42 will have co-op missions. Most stuff like radar just needs some additional data added for all the other additional ships in the verse (labeling meta data). 2024 is a whole new era for the game. Everything changes.
I just look forward to coming into a ship from 0-gravity and not crumpling up into a ball on the ground.
base-building... they'd have to have destructible modelling to it - damage from enemies and the elements... they couldn't help themselves not to
Always temper expectations for SC.
Hey, Thats me at 3minutes flying for Yogi :D
your opening statement is true most of what we saw will not be in the patch another huge letdown and more lies from sc, and what is added will not work , the game as it stands now does not work , but no worries its onlt beeb 15 years
sounds like Carrack owners that run cargo are going to be happy
T0 base building being part of 3.23 is so entirely unbelievable I see no chance of it being here, at cit con they said that thay were just starting it in Q1 2024, a deplayable version in a month would be ridiculous.
So the people that said they were going to do stuff in the past and didn't do it are now saying they're going to do stuff.
I'll believe it when it's in the game.
2017....... yeah I remember my childhood
I am really hoping for some performance optimization. Especially on planets.
I always am, but it's unlikely. Much of the performance is server based at the moment. The optimization will likely come when Vulkan is fully implemented.
We desperately need this. The game is borderline unplayable for most people and that seriously sucks. Vulkan needs to happen.
The whole game is stuttery.
We must make more ships.
What a scam.
base building is what i am looking forward to :)
I just wish i wouldn't get kicked from servers when I try to play....
I'm sure I will be taking a age to create my perfect character, probably as a self look alike.
It would be great if they let you export it to a file, so then when you have a full wipe, you can simple import the character file.
i wouldnt bother, it will get deleted in a patch wipe lol
I'll be happy if they take the quantum event marker off my hud when I'm in my underwear in a station or a city.
Too much in this patch to remember and envision the changes
character creator
starmap
new interaction/looting/crosshair/scopes
EVA
Master modes/gimbal/precision mode
distribution centers and their missions
personal hangars/freight elevators
xenothreat
eco changes
my guess is first creatures
not completely game changing, but most of the broken/lacking features will be good. Gameplay isn't really gonna be different at all though, besides master modes changing up ships a bit. Distribution center missions but it's just basic functionality. Not really adding much to do this patch, but if pyro is still coming this summer it's the perfect patch to set that up
What feature am I looking forward to most in 3.23? Yes...
I need VR , than i'll come back to this game..
no way we get t1 base building this early. theres just no way. IF true though then LORD ROBERTS YOU MAD MAN
I dont know if its gonna be a dumpsterfire necessarily. These systems have been developed and supposedly pretty refined for squadron, so apart from the networking it might not be that big of a suckerpunch.
I hope the severs are ready for the massive influx of players ❤😂
anyone else really bummed about master modes? the arbitrary speed limit might completely ruin the game for me tbh. planets and moons already had atmosphere that slowed speed down and allowed for that type of combat, why make a fake, immersion-ruining mode that forces ALL combat to be like that? flying around in arena commander in scm mode just really bummed me out, i felt like i was flying in glue and could never either chase or run away in an effective way.
I mean they shifted so many devs over to SC from SQ42 so i could see it happening
most looking forward to the game working.
I just want SQ42 akready, it's been a long time since they said it was content complete.
When they deliver so little in 12 years that even something small is considered "Biggest EVER"
Yogi already confirmed in a public discord the new quantum stuff won't be in for 3.23.
The only thing I truly care about is to no longer be 100 CPU bound.
Been backing for about 9 years now and this is without a doubt the update I’ve been waiting for. Now to just get my Polaris released into the game and I’ll be complete.
This will most likely work out like most of the new updates, janky af with most of the new content barely working and/or breaking older features.
