One of the highlights of the movie Moneyball was hearing the voice of Bill King calling the A's games during the 20 game streak in 2002. A great one who belongs in the HOF.

I had the most perfect angle in the building for this whole play Jerry Markbreit- smfh- what a joke. I was at the 1977 game as well, the first time i saw us beat the Raiders. The starter at QB that day was Cliff Olander- he was a backup, maybe 3rd string and the Raiders had what would end up being a team with like 7 hall of famers and arguably there should be. It was a huge upset, and although i was only 7, I vividly remember the confetti in the air and the place going nuts.
Twenty years later, I was watching the Dolphins and Bills in a playoff game in Miami, and Doug Flutie gets sacked and fumbles inside Miami's 5 with seconds to go. Trace Armstrong stayed on top of Flutie and would not let him up because of the rule change from this game where only the player who fumbles may recover in the last two minutes.
Shut up! This was the only controversial play that ever went in my Raiders favor. The others never did. The Immaculate Reception... The Tuck rule.. Both of which resulted in helping 2 different dynasties begin. The Steelers and The Patriots.
I heard a recent interview with former Charger Hank Bauer on 1090 AM Radio San Diego. He scored two TD's that afternoon! The Chargers missed the playoffs that year, and Hank believes that the outcome of this game was the reason. This one extra loss was the difference in the Chargers missing the post-season.

The tuck rule is altogether different and has nothing to do with this

There was no forward motion. That's a fumble. Awesome play. If we ever see something like this again it will trend on Twitter for a week.
