    UA 's premium plus cabin addresses the travel comfort needs of business travelers who cannot expense a business class ticket. Indeed, it is a smart move by UA. Also, your disclosure of working on another project with UA is highly commendable and it adds credibility to your excellent presentation.

    I booked the Premium class because for my flights between Christmas and New Year's Day it was just $300 more than economy, so I chose this :) This is so detailed, thank you guys!!

      @alexsears1898 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looking back, do you think $300 was worth it?? I tend to be quite good and constantly checking seats to ensure I give myself the best chance to have an open seat next to me in Economy... $300 isn't crazy expensive but also not cheap either. I struggle to determine if it's worth it..... maybe important to note, it's a 13hr flight that leaves in the morning so I don't necesarrily intend on sleeping too much on it in the first place.

    Have flown UA premium economy multiple times. Just flew it to Tokyo. It is more than worth the cost just for the seat and small cabin. Just wish they’d add a bathroom just for pe. Flew ANA back from Tokyo. Great airline. UA served easily as good. Only difference to me was ANA service was a bit better.

    formerly known as domestic first or business class. Then again, I was able to get a seat in it for no extra cost when they first started running this aircraft from EWR to LAX.

Hoping to figure this out! Trying to aid my husband in his first overseas flight as he is very anxious about it. Thanks guys!

    2:19 Your info isn’t right:
    - Economy = 17.05” width, 31” pitch
    - Economy Plus = 17.05” width, 34” pitch
    - Premiuum Plus = 18.5” width, 38” pitch (They get the same food as economy)
    - Polaris = 22” width, 78” pitch

    Premium Plus is a great budget option for a better experience. Also, no copay to upgrade from economy to PP, only 20k miles. Also, if you’re aiming for a Polaris upgrade you’ll have a better chance of an upgrade and it takes less Plus Points (30 vs 40) to upgrade to Polaris.

    Oct 1, 1019, Prior to SFO to CDG, at check-in we got offered an upgrade. I didn't know it was for the CDG to SFO leg. When we boarded to come home I was "shocked" that we got such good seats. Sitting down, my outstreached hand couldn't touch the back of the seat in front of me. I spent half the flight home playing with all the buttons and exploring the cubbyholes. I got some decent headphones and ate like a human with china plates and flatware. I even got a toothbrush in a goody bag. Great move by United. I still want to sit in the very front and get the foot massage I've been hearing rumors about.

    Flew on United Premium Plus from EWR to DEL on Sep 15, 2021 - Although the cabin was good, and comforts as described, the service was horrendous, The missteps included - No food / beverage service for 10 hours (Just 1 meal services an hour into the 13 hour flight, and a small snack/breakfast an hour before landing) - Missing amenity kit (attendant was rude when we pointed this out - said she would get one but never did), Really bad lavatories (I know it is likely to be bad on a 350 passenger 13 hour flight - but I have previously flown Air France / Delta - where they did actually clean it during the flight). Overall just felt completely ignored. Very disappointing.

Do you know if the meals service has changed since your trip? I understand they have done away with china etc. to plastic and cheap pronto meals and no champagne. Any idea if there is any truth to the changes? Also how much of the crew knowing who you were etc. helped to make you rated #10 service. the other good thing about their review - is that they truly focused on food and especially on SEATS! So many airline review videos, they make a MAJORITY of it about their hotel, the drive to the airport, the airport. The clouds outside the plane. This review did some of that when it was relevant - but mostly, a quality, ON POINT review. Oh, if she gains 10 pounds and has a little gray one day - holy shit that 'll be something

  • @celieboo
    @celieboo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    To me, it is definitely worth it. I wish they offered it on more flight. And contrary to popular belief, premium economy doesn't cost "twice as much" as economy. It is usually only a $200-$300 more. Sometimes, the cost is the same or cheaper. For example, we are going to Japan in December (🤞🏾). The premium economy tickets cost roughly the same as regular economy and in some cases, the premium economy tickets are actually CHEAPER.
    So my plan is to always get premium economy

    You must have gotten lucky with the service. I just flew united premium plus from chicago to london and the service was horrible there and back. I didn't finish my meal in 5 minutes or less so I had to hold all my trash from the meal the entire flight in my seat on both flights. and I didn't see a flight attendant again until breakfast was served one hour before landing. On the way back I was in the bulkhead seat with my son and the FA didn't even bother to get our trash after the meal and basically just skipped us. I also found the seats extremely uncomfortable. I was in so much pain in less than 2 hours. And champagne was never offered to Premium plus on our flights. Also every single flight was delayed causing connection problems. And the smaller connecting flight we came in on had something dripping on me the entire flight from the ceiling. Horrible experience. Perhaps they knew you were youtube travel reviewers and pulled out the PR for you.

      You aren't alone.. This video was made pre-covid. It seems like the service in all parts of the airline industry have dropped.

    Question. Does the last row of premium plus recline like the rest? Or is it blocked by the back bulkhead??

    • @Rumpole1000
      @Rumpole1000 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does recline the full 6 inches. There is space behind the seat and the bulkhead to facilitate the recline.

    Its ridiculously expensive on some routes even on off season days.. its more than twice the premium economy of virgin atlantic for where I am flying!

      Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy is wonderful! United just put lipstick on a pig and charged double.

    Four across, who is United kidding?

    • @creditsuisse7964
      @creditsuisse7964 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't mind the arrangement. If you check out the other airlines, Delta and American also have 4 across in their Premium Economy cabins on the 777 and A350. It is still part of the economy cabin after all. It's not business. Many international carriers also have the 2-4-2 layout for Premium Economy.

    It would be cool if they replaced all the domestic United first class on their 737, A320, and 757 with the premium plus seats

    Thats basically the premium economy class in most international airlines...unfortunately local airlines in the US has never even gotten close to the best top 10 airlines in the world because of their lower standards when it comes to comfort, food and service. Sadly it is so inferior that they just can't compare.

    Would you go into some someone’s house and put your feet up on their walls????? Why go on a plane and do the same thing? And why encourage people to do that? You don’t own the plane. You are a guest.

      @@CaptainJAF Than United: United International First Class that I took to Brazil, was not equal to my long haul International Business Class experiences with European Airlines! These include: TAP Air Portugal, British Airways, Lufthansa, LOT Poland, Swiss, or Virgin. Also, both my Continental Business First Newark-Lima, & TAM Brazil International First Class flights to Buenos Aries, were hands down better than United Global First Class!
