Yeah the elevator workers Union is like that up here from what I’ve heard, to people on the inside that is definitely a bad look, but most of the people who seem to talk negitive about unions really don’t know anything about unions it seems, they just repeat the propaganda they hear, also when my local tried to impose a aptitude test for selecting applicants to join the program, they were sued for discrimination, which makes no sense to me, it would definitely be benificial in my eyes to see if someone has mechanical aptitude for the trade before they get in, but what do I know🤷🏽♂️
If it involves the employer trying to push you to dangerous limits, I would fully support unionizing. I'm particularly talking about the manufacturing industry. Otherwise, you could probably shop the job market on your own.
I agree on that, like i said i think unions can be a great thing but i do believe to demand higher wages , there should be solid training provided, end of the day it’s a partnership between workers and employers, they provide a job and we provide the work, but we both need each other to succeed
Pipelines, refineries , all our work , democrats definitely are advocating to get rid of our work, which is one of the reasons you don’t see any Biden hard hat stickers, at the same time republicans keep pushing “right to work” legislation which is just a tactic to break unions and people fall for it because right to work sounds good, but right to work is only a right to lower wages🤦🏽♂️ I’m a firm believer that government is not our friend
I wish I could have fixed mine cheap lol, I was in the hospital for 4 months, had to learn to walk again and then had to wear a plastic back brace/shell for 6 months, luckily I had insurance I didn’t think about insurance when I was 16 lol
@@mikepict9011 not true, I don’t know about all trades, but for pipefitters out of my local, we carry the most licenses state and city then any other trade, there is no no union training that even comes close to competing, that is why we have so many mechanical contractors going Union here, they get what they pay for, there’s guys on every job who don’t do much , but for the most part we have a ton of guys who are really smart and take pride in our trade
