- Jim Beam just released Old Grand-Dad 16!! It's a 16yr old high rye mash bill bourbon coming in at 100 proof. Ryan stuck it out in the tropical depression for 3 hrs waiting for this release so we could have it and bring you our thoughts on this bourbon.
It would be nice if they came out with some age stated OGD in the more affordable range like Knob Creek. Maybe an 8 or 9 year and a 12 year, or even like a 10 year. That would just elevate it from the 4 to 5 year stuff that sits on bottom shelves. Basil Haden used to have an age statement, but that stuff is so watered down and overpriced for what it is. Give me OGD.
Agree the price was a bit steep. So far, we like a lot of their OGD expressions.

I didn't get the nutty until it had set in my glass for awhile. But I'm with you, it's great. I think this may be my favorite of the recent Beam releases.
