I think "Back here again" isn't the best translation for this song in English......
But that is the beauty of language..... it's hard to translate with full meaning.
the song is about reviewing your life and mourning of your best friend since you were a teenager. (or he isn't dead yet but somehow won't show up any more)
no matter how many cigarettes and cups of alcohol you take..... he would never return to you again.
those memories can be only in your head and would no longer be true again.
you are still alive but part of your soul was taken while your best friend left.
you want to have fun with him, want to thank him for completing your life.... but the guy who should sit there across the table is disappeared forever.
the final part in the video shows a young man being mean to the actor....
if you noticed his face, he was angry and wanna to take the fight (or just say something back) at the first.....
but turns to peace very quickly because what he sees..... is just who he was.... with his friend.
So he said "I'm looking at a handsome guy" to the young man..... kind of giving his life a compliment and hoping the young man has a wonderful life without regrets.
sorry for poor English but I tried to explain my point of view as a Taiwanese who got tears every single time when I heard this song...

Hi guys, thanks for checking this MV out. As a Taiwanese, I will try to explain a little bit more about this music video from a native point of view. The members of EggPlantEgg showed up at the beginning of the video, the guys with toques and hats. They didn't really play any role during the rest of the video. This video was designed to show some kind of cross-talk between generations. The elder gentleman, played by Peng-feng Wu, used to be a playboy. He also got a buddy/wingman always next to him. The two young men basically are living a life that the elder gentlemen used to have: stealing, drinking, fighting, ... etc. Now the gentleman has lost his best buddy, sitting alone, singing the song. All he can have is the memory with his friend. The best arrangement about this video is the encounter between the two young men and the elder gentleman at the end. The young men were all about being savage while the gentleman saw himself through them. That gives a very powerful comeback.
Mr. Peng-feng Wu, who won three best acting awards, unfortunately, lost his life due to heartache earlier this year. He is deeply remembered.

Welcome to EggPlantEgg Universe. "Back Here Again" is the 3rd song of trilogy released on 2017. The 1st song is "All That Wishful Thinking" released on 2019. The 2nd song is "Waves Wandering" released on 2018. Their ordering is subject to MV storyline, not by the release date. Anyway this trilogy is a huge blow since they are all Taiwanese song, not Mandarin song. Language pronouncing difference convey very storng feeling compared to Mandarin songs and all 3 songs are very well connected like Godfather series makes them a hot topic in CPOP world already. Recommend you girls to see the other 2 songs and you will definitely no regret.
The main character is remembering the past with his best buddy at the karaoke, hence the glass of liquor with cigarette with no one there. His past is very similar to the brotherhood that you see in the video, which is the present as you see at the end of the video. The brothers asked “what you looking at” in a gangster way and I think the main character laughed bc they reminded him so much of his friendship with his friend that passed away. He replied back “I’m looking at you because you are handsome” bc it’s a reply that won’t get you in trouble.
The ending means the old guy has been reminiscing this whole time, and then he came across the young people, and these young people remind the old man of his good old times. There's no flashback or anything, both scenes are in real time.
In the end, the young people stared and shouted at the old guy saying "What the fuck u looking at?!" And the old guy simply replied "I'm looking at you cuz you look too good to be ignored." And just smiled away.
The hero in the MV has passed away...The lyrics are pronounced in Taiwanese. It was explained in the MV that friends have already left. After the MV was released.. The protagonist has also left the world.

The words the oldman speaking to the 2 young guys is a very local Taiwanese verb, kinda of rude, meaning “watch your ass”, which some people used when having a fight.

The first two characters are the Chinese name for Eggplant while the last word is simply Egg. So, the group's name would be Eggplant, Egg. It's a strange name. The song's name would be more accurately translated as "Prodigal son turns back or Prodigal son returns". The video hints to us that his friend passed away, possibly from old age or due to living a terrible life with bad choices. The part where he bumps into the teenagers is like a social commentary on young people with no direction and making bad life decisions like him and his late friend. I think the video was meant to draw a parallel between his childhood and theirs.

The song name actually means kinda like prodigal son returned but differ in that 浪子 means people who joined gangs. So the song is about how a man reminisced his friend and their friendship, but sadly the friend never get the chance to leave that lifestyle and led a normal life.
The young men are kids who is kind of living the same life as they did, but can also be seen like reflection of their youth.

After couple whiskey, the old boy (boyA, the actor) got tipsy and sees the vivid memory.
"what the fck you are looking at?" young boyB was dissing to someone else while young boyA was injured and carried by him.
BoyB said that to scare random people on the street so he could take boyA to flee.
Old boyA recalls that moment about their brotherhood. "I'm looking at hansom you." he replied as he was that random person on the street.
He said so with smile prob. bcz that was years ago and all he feels right now is the friendship. Second possible reason is maybe this particular response is their own thing and old boyA still enjoys the little fun talk. That smile is mixed with the feeling of regrets, fun, and sorrow at the same time as their youth.

the translation is not good tho. It's actually taking about old gangster looking back to his young life. 浪子 means gangster and 回頭 means turning head to look back(also usually implies confessing and decides not to do bad things anymore)

The song title as translated doesn't convey the right feeling. 浪子 means someone who's gone done the wrong path in life, typically has a connotation for male. 回頭 is is more accurately translated as turnaround or turning around. So in combination, 浪子回頭 the person whom went down the wrong path is mending his way back to a better or more fruitful life. Filling the 2nd glass and lit cigarette is for someone who's passed on.
