Nice!! I love the energy of this Illustration. These overall tips are helpful. I find myself rushing through to get designs done since I'm old not and feel there's not enough time to get all this Art out of me lol. I've been trying to craft a new industry standard portfolio to hopefully land jobs doing this for a living.
Glad to hear that the video was helpful and that it resonated with you! I’m always happy to create new videos on all aspects of illustration and thanks for your comment. I’m not entirely sure which statement you had in mind. Can you please let me know and I’ll be happy to talk more about it in a future video. Thanks for watching:)
@@scarrartist When you mentioned about , "In my younger days I would burn the midnight oil"'; it got me thinking about other aspects of an older illustrator i.e. your work not being looked at if you've reached a certain age or if that even exists in the industry.
@@j.turnerart3050 Oh ok, and thanks for getting back to me. I totally get that and it’s something that I think about on an almost weekly basis. I would say that as long as you are looking at art that is current instead of just looking at older work, continually improving your skills, have the solid foundations in place and are trying new things with your art then I don’t think age makes that much difference with regards to getting hired. That being said, a lot of my influences are artist’s from the past, such as Frazetta, Lovell and Zorn but I also enjoy work from artist’s that are still current such as Greg Manchess and Greg Rutkowski. So I think that having that mix of old and new influences helps me concentrate on substance rather than whatever styles that are currently popular. Hope that helps:)
Love the tips and your daily routine! Definitely a great way to boost productivity, not only as an artist. 🙌
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear that you found the tips useful:)

So happy to hear that you found the video useful! Good luck with the new portfolio and getting those all important commissions:)
Your commentary is always helpful! Wondering about the older illustrator statement you 've skimmed over, maybe another video idea?
