You forgot the boots that can gotten very early and taken all the way through hell. The "secret unique" (terribly low chance to get) "Hotspur Boots" (yes, boots). With Fire Resist +45%, Max Fire Resist +15%, and Life +15, it's great for playing through the game. Their lack of FRW% is the only downside if you ask me-but between EnigmaRW in the late game (45% FRW) and StealthRW (25% FRW) in the early game, they're an MVP for playing the game. Ironically, the first 5 different times I got them, I preferred my yellow boots with MF% and dual resists. I regret it now.
I will roll an assassin on 2.4 as my first (and main) character. Shadow Dancer are on my "no-one-want-them" list. Which is nice, because these boots are quite an infrequent drop. FHR, FRW, +2 Shadow skills and +25 dex. Actually very nice if used to it's full extent.
Mainly Gores for Ubers and War Travs for farming on a Kicksin..Javazon also found a pair. Will only use others like IK, Nats or Aldurs while leveling...
Aldurs boots are go-to for like 90% of my builds. 40% FRW, some life and Fire rez to complement the missing fire rez on a spirit shield makes it the go-to choice until I have decent rez elsewhere in my set. I'm kind of sad that you didn't mention Silkweave as they are my go-to midgame boot for most casters struggling for mana. Missing FCR in the boot slot makes them little more than stat sticks so it boils down to a choice in FRW, Rez, MF, or FHR which is why rare boots are often best in slot. If they were to add some sort of FCR boot (upgrade silkweave, or make a unique wyrmhide) I think you would see a ton of new builds open up as the top FCR breakpoint is often locked behind 2/20 helms or ammy (or both).
Silkweaves are definitely more of an "honorable mention" for me... would love some FCR boots though, or even just some meditation boots (level 1 meditation or something)
@@Alzorath if you were to design a unique wyrmhide boot what stats would you give it? The boots in its line would be Hotspur and infernostride, so I don't think we could avoid a fire theme, but it could be an interesting thought experiment. Apparently there are boots in the code called "Merman's Sprocket" that are broken, but they don't fit the theme at all. the same thing could go for Mirrored Boots with Goblin Toe and War travs being in the line.
I use Aldurs the most especially on characters that I don’t need the MF from WarTravs that use a Spirit shield. Mele nothing will ever beat Gore Riders! Ultimately a triple res FRW 20 or so MF boots are my favorites to use…but I must say if they don’t have fire and lightning res on there I will not use them. Any combo of those above 20% is GG!
best rare boots i found had tri res with no poison. they dont have frw but do have mf and a frost nova on struck. don't really need frw on em when you got enigma lol
I would like to mention hotspurs as BIS for CS runs. In hardcore they are required while leveling my paladin (saving ancients for 98 so i cant do baal)
Oh damn, I am first again huh xD As far as boots go - there are a few for me that sticks in my memories The most memorable one is definitely Treads of Cthon, the first unique drop I ever had back in like 2003-2004, playing LoD as a little kid and I nearly lost it when I saw a brown item drop in Normal Act 2 - it was special indeed. Right now with Resurrected, I occasionally use Sander/War Travs/Gore Rider/Aldur/Natalya, those popular ones mentioned here xD With Paladins, I actually like Tearhaunch Greaves - maybe just because of the +2 to Vigor which might be not that powerful tbh.
Eth Treks is one of those "GG items" in the community that just makes me go "huh?". 20% run speed is terrible, who cares about +stamina/stamina regen at lvl 64 and who cares about poison resist in general? So we're down to +20% FHR, some stats, and a decent chunk of defense. I recently found eth treks on singleplayer, and I just can't find a character who's willing to use em.
@thickock45 Yeah, esp since you can stack the duration on the +50% resist, +10% max resist by drinking multiples That and thawing pots are basically free gear slots tbh
I have a wonderful pair of boots for my soc, 20 wr, 18 fire 21 light 24 cold and 25 reduced poison length as well as 11 mf xD nothing near a max roll but overall very good
Nice roll. Resist sum is over 60! :) I recently watch some LlamaSC vids and he said Poison Length Reduction (PLR) was a mostly garbage stat though (not that I really tried for it though). I think the basinwiki said the difficulty penalties, -40 & -100, also apply to PLR so in normal you have 0% and hell you have -100% (double duration) so he's probably right (since you can't go below -100% resists and it likely counts as a resist).
Martial classes is the only term that encompasses the classes in question - the alternative to "martial classes" is: "Non Elemental Melee & Ranged classes"
1. Already stated in the video 2. +dex is a better suffix than mf or auto-rep/eth (though which one you want the dex instead of depends on if you're pvp or pve) 3. There's also strong niche options that can beat out mf and auto-rep/eth That said - if we're talking "perfect" boots - crafted recipes can stack with 30/40/40/40 boots - resulting in 30/40/50/40 boots w/ DR/MDR or 30/40/40/40 with +life & replenish. (at +20 life, it will beat out +dex boots on Necro/Sorc/Druid, since 9 dex = 18 base life for them)

I never cared for FRW until I went from a char that used Aldurs to a new char. Holy crap.
yea, it feels like going back to Diablo 1 going from an assassin with BoS & FRW to a new character lol
I also love to craft safety boots early on. Easy source of getting something useful.
I had a Cold/Lightning Sorceress with Infernostride a few years ago. I loved the concept of weaponized running away with the Blaze proc 😆
Assuming Blaze keeps the FRW component when 2.4 goes live, I could see Infernostride getting a bump in its use cases
"Retreating Offensively"
Hotspur is also quite good, no run speed, but insane max fire res.
definitely nice boots (right up there with tearhaunches), but don't quite cut into my "best" list :)

Ignoring rares or blood boots... Aldur's ftw!
Will you plz make a video on iron golem?
These boots are made for walking
And that´s just what they do
The temptation to title it that was real...
@@Alzorath I guess great minds do think alike XD
Aldur's Advance is definitely an option if you have low Fire Res.
I find Marrowwalks amazing on a... Sorceress. They offer you few charges of Life Tap and Bone Prison, which is useful for ubers.
You are right. Bear Enchantress likes Marrowwalk's lifetap. Phase Blade (6 shael) bear claw of immortality.
Marrowalk - bugged boots for bone necro

Infernostride is hand down the best boots for max fire res beside Hotspur. 85 max fire res is Huge
Aldurs are to boots the same way Tal's Mask is to Merc helm lol
"Pretty crap, but will work until I find something better"? xD
More akin to "Bronze Medal" - you can get better, but more than enough to do everything you need.
I always thought Waterwalks with 20FRW +65 life and the +15 Dex were underrated. Aldurs very solid. War Travs still king IMO

Dunno man...Aldurs boots are so nice. Good solid boots. I love them
if we will able to upgrade set items in next patch, eth aldur's boots will be very good too ye?
Shadow Dancers - top pvp boots on my opinion. frw fhr 30! and dex for max block
already smack talked my +2 dancers >:(

Google imp shanks or wraith brands and then wish you could get them in d2r
