My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from AMZWATCH
I bought the XVI, and was actually surprised about how the lack of lume on the numerals is actually brilliant rather than a flaw. I love lume and thought it was a shame. But when looking at the watch at night, I was really surpised how easy it is to read, a big reason beeing tha lack of lots of irrelevant lume "blinding" the eyes, and makes it really easy to focus on the hands, and the 6,9,12 marks are plenty to read the time. :) It's one of those things you just have to try to find out it is genius. 👍
Excellent review!!!! Great points all around! Just ordered myself this exact Mark XX (this will also mark my first entry into IWC so I am excited to finally experience this brand).
In Europe (or at least in Switzerland) IWC themselves don‘t give discounts anymore. But ADs certainly do. Got mine at 20% off as a good customer though
@@Philtalkswatchesandmore I have found that the aircraft depicted on this watch is a JUNKERS JU52. Aircraft that German Nazis used during WW2 invading other countries. This aircraft participated in destruction of Stalingrad in Soviet Union. It would be unacceptable for me to wear something like this on my wrist.
But the position of the date window is completely NOT logical because 9 doesn't align with 8 and 10. So why is it logical that the date aligns with 2 and 4? Makes no sense at all!
I think if the window was more to the right, it would almost visually merge with the 3 o'clock marker due to its white background. This would detract from readability and just look sloppy.
@@Philtalkswatchesandmore Do a simple google search and you’ll see. Lots of owners complaining about the skipping/jumping minute hand as well as poor time keeping. The movement isn’t even COSC certified and apparently it’s pretty hit and miss performance wise. All of this is totally unacceptable in a $6k+ timepiece. If IWC isn’t willing to use a proper in house caliber, then they should just stick with a high grade eta/sellita and call it a day. I’d much rather have a dressed up ETA 2892 than the crappy movement that they put in it now.

Wish they'd lume the numerals, but apart from that, fantastic watch. Great bracelet. Perfect dimensions -- love that lug to lug measurement.
Yeah, the lume or lack thereof, is my major sticking point with the Mark XX.

The lime comes from the original Mark xi the first one they made so it's consistent with the heritage
@@JLUnit416agree, totally ruins the watch, especially as a pilot style watch which should have excellent lume
I bought mine last April, blue dial, didn’t go for the bracelet, swapped the blue strap out for a dark brown one. Lovely watch.
It’s an understated strap monster!
How is the accuracy of your watch? Mine runs 14 minutes fast.
@@kaakie1 lol mine has been +0s a day for the last 3 weeks
@@kaakie1😮 I‘d take it to IWC instantly. Mine is as -1.5 seconds per day
@@ToolwatchBoutique I have done it twice, they did not fix it 😞
Beautiful!
why the date wheel is not centered??

Thank you! You will not disappoint 👍🏻
My grail watch
Lucky watch !
Hi Phil, curious to know if you can get it at discount at the retailers where you are ? Cheers, Andy from Aus
Yes. It’s quite common here in Hong Kong to have discount at AD on most watches 😆

Great One..
When people are saying #amzwatch is a better option for buying a watch,I very much agree!
Why blue over black this time?
Always wanted a blue one but never wanted a le petit Prince 🤣
Beautiful watch.
Open back and it would be complete in my eyes.
what sort of aircraft is depicted on this watch?
There are articles that says it’s a German plane and there are that say it’s one from RAF lol I’m unsure too

Unfortunately it is a German Junkers Ju-52. IWC used to use one for marketing purpose.
@@vidocq9593 I could not wear a watch on my wrist with a Nazi plane on it
@@janfrosty3392 I feel you. I really do.
It will be the perfect watch once they fix the date position.
Lucky man!!!
Great perspective thanks for sharing
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed 👍🏻
It’s such a beautiful watch, but that lug to lug length is way too long
Or maybe you need to go to the gym more often..
Where is the review bro? 😅
Thanks for asking!
Life’s been too busy lately I haven’t done any videos 😂 will try get some content back out !

The movement sucks. Too bad, because otherwise it’s a great piece with very nice finishing and an awesome bracelet.
What makes you think the movement sucks ? Would love to know!
