True. But there's a reason for that: in the beginning the ambience and atmosphere *really* pulls you into the game! But after a while you "wake up" and realize it's just for one shallow thing, grinding for better gear endlessly and that is it! And with that, you get bored and leave the game, sadly...

It's true.
I listen to music from different wow maps when I sleep.
Mostly the starting zone area, where you can dream nostalgically and remember the good ol time while slowly falling asleep.
The memories dude :) to think back clearly and remember old friends in game and where you were in life at the time, it's like you're dreaming already before you sleep.
..........not all of us had friends in WoW........................ I played my entire 8 months in WoW solo, I think I talked to less than 5 humans total in that entire time...I played for the world and the exploration, I wish it could have been like skyrim, I never cared for or wanted human interaction

Incredible to think just how big of an impact weather could have on this game. One of the most nostalgic memories is definitely the Elwyn Forest starting point, getting to level 6-7 to move out of the starting area and on to Goldshire.
Nothing in life lasts forever, that's the main lesson with a game like this.
Music is outstanding, still love to listen to it.
Well said, brother. But there is one thing that does last forever and that is my love for what this game used to be.
Although Heirlooms are nice, it was a magical experience to level up there from to 10. Got to explore all over and enjoyed the zone.

The game used to have a way better rain effects back in the days, I truly wonder if they removed it or rather "Nerfed" it because people complained about it? Either way I miss it sometime it was such a heavy rains than you almost couldn't see anything in front of you... damn it was epic.

Yes you are right. Sadly many oldschool things that werd awesome immersion have now gone. Modern younger players seem to be more interested in fast pace action point systems and political things, and they listen to their pop/rap music while playing. kek

Those sounds are all fictional. But the music is from wow itself. Most is coming from Azuremyst Isle.

***** In Cata, they wanted to modify the way lights and shadows played across one another (they did look nice afterward) but an unintended side effect was that the night was brightened crazily. Zone by zone became unpredictable, and when they sought to darken the nights back they mainly focused on a couple of zones, overly compensated on Stormwind and Elwynn, and left the rest.
I'm told that one small corner between a few different zones (In the Zu'l Gurub, Deadwind pass, and Duskwood area) was untouched by all of Cata's mistakes.
Perid0tStar yeah im aware of those areas.The whole feel of the zone when youre walking is awesome.I really loved what they did in WOD in spires of Arak.The place is freakin dark at night.Really makes you feel like its night and not day time.Makes the game experience a bit more fun.Its just one of those tiny details that can make a game that much more likeable.For some people its the music for others its details like this.
***** Arak IS cool at night! It was night the first time I went in there. The feeling of going through those dark, interesting woods to explore made me think of Duskwood when I was still a nooblet.
