As someone horrifically abused in an American hospital, forced to be in pain for the rest of my life for what they did to me during childbirth against my will or medical need.. this show speaks to my heart. Women's rights are quietly being violated across the world and our voices are silenced. I'm glad a popular television show is causing more to question the status quo. My petition to my DA to accept criminal charges against my abusers is still active on the Change organization's website under "women's rights, childbirth"

So why were you in America to have a baby then? I’m just curious if you just came over here to have a baby for the perks, and it didn’t do as planned? Sorry for what you went through at any hospital tho. In America 🇺🇸 you can sue anyone so you’ll probably win

@@LittleMComedy I was born here. Life circumstances have kept me here. Medical malpractice lawsuits do not support women's rights during childbirth here in the United States unless the baby is the one injured or killed. As many lawyers told me "maternal injury is ASSUMED in the USA." Monetary recouperations are capped at a very low amount and statitute of limitations does not allow for enough time for a woman to fully realize and diagnose her injuries, especially while taking care of a newborn. I tried to take my case to criminal jurisdiction, got 5 thousand signatures on my petition to my local district attorney but it's just a "good 'ol boys club" and I did not have the power or energy to keep pushing against the wall that is our justice system when it comes to women's rights during childbirth. I was pressured to deliver in the hospital by my partner. I was fearful. They did exactly what I feared most while I was at their mercy, even though it was against my written and oral consent. What perks? Literally ALL OTHER DEVELOPED nations have more successful neonatal, maternal, and infant health mortality outcomes than this "wonderful" country. If I could go back in time, a third world country would have literally served me better. At least it would be much more unlikely to be forced onto your back and into restraints to vaginally deliver a frank breech child.

At the beginning of March I knew nothing about the book or the TV show. When I twigged it was set in a dystopian future and not a Jane Austen costume drama I got to binge the whole thing in one go. Looking forward to the new season.

Revisiting this after the season has already started and I think that Tuello is going to favor the Waterfords because of some weird obssession he has for Serena. And I wonder on what conditions June is going back to Gilead. Still can't figure that out. This season is going prety good so far

Loved every episode from this show from every season right up to the last one. Honestly, June has been through hell but why is she always staring over the camera with that look we see at every turn. Enough is enough. Killing the commander in that fashion was too cruel. However bad he was, Aunt Lydia was always worse. As was Serena in my opinión. But I know the actor wanted to leave the show. Can t wait for season 5. Hopefully they get their daughter back and June will return to normal.

The series is the perfect example of what a totalitarian socialist or communist state can do to Americans. It's very similar to what happend in Soviet Union, North Korea, China, Venezuela, Cuba and many others. The more I watch The Handmaid's Tale the more I fear a socialist society. Never surrender to a totalitarian State. Very well done!!!
