I’m not that concerned about whether President Biden’s health can hold on for four years…thats what Kamala Harris is for. I’m only concerned about the election. We cannot allow Trump back into the White House. My fear is that the dems will replace President Biden with someone that can’t garner the votes. After Hillary, I’m worried about running a female candidate. I think Kamala Harris would be a good President, but I’m worried that some people just won’t vote for a woman. The military supported a draft dodger over a woman in 2016. I never thought I’d see that ever. In my opinion, President Biden’s first term was a massive success, he accomplished a lot for the people and brought us out of a global crisis with astounding success. I don’t think anyone else could’ve done a better job. That’s not to say everything was great, but on the whole, I think he earned the opportunity to run for a second term, so I’m on board.
I'm a registered Independent and will support a sitting slow thinking and talking Biden over a standing lying and self-centered Trump any day. We're all flawed but what happened to striving for better and honoring good character. It's ironic that the party of "Morals" has bent backwards and turned inside out for someone who has none.

My impression as a long-time subscriber is NY Times writes multiple articles about Trump practically or literally every single day. They are generally highly critical. NYT has always made it obvious Trump is unfit to hold public office. They don't write those exact words on every article, which seems to bother some people.

This particular article calling for Trump to drop out should have been written a couple of years ago.

Why should they be in one "lane" or another? As a Canadian, I find US politics so concerning, particularly because of how polarized everyone is. It is happening in many places, including Canada, but it is so pronounced in the US, especially because of the two party system. Why can't a person or a newspaper editor have an opinion that one candidate is unfit and dangerous, while another is old and should pass the torch to another Democrat? Personally, I don't like the idea of blind loyalty to one's preferred party. I prefer to discuss with people and read editorials that involve reasoned opinions and ideas, even if I don't always agree with them.
Both truths can exist at the same time. But I do agree they should encourage Donald to drop out too. It isn't about lanes or parties at this point.

NYT writes multiple articles about Trump every day since 2016. Practically all are negative, often strongly so. He gets vastly more scrutiny than Biden, who gets very little most weeks. Trump's intellectual, verbal and personality weakness and extreme pathology have had lots of attention. Honestly, it's probably better to release such pieces close to the election. What really matters is how people feel once they stand in the voting booths in november 5th. Releasing them too early risks the people forgetting about it. Ironically, the same is probably also true for Bidens debate performance. Once more people find out about the reality of project 2025, and when Trump finally gets sentenced for his crimes, the tides will hopefully turn.
