Hello Avaya Guru, thanks for the video. Recently I have set up a Lab consisting of Avaya SMGR, SM, AADS components. I followed the instructions in the video and was able to use dynamic configure for Avaya Workplace but I got an error that I couldn't use contact search ("Contact Service Problem"). When connecting LDAP (Active Directory 2016) directly to Avaya Workplace (not using AADS for dynamic configuration) everything works properly. What is causing this problem? Looking forward to your support.
Hello Avaya Gruru, thanks for the video. I am deploying AADS on Lab setup for one of my client and it's just allowing to access the install URL without putting any credentials. Even through Avaya Equinox also it's not working and giving the certificate related error like invalid certificate. What can be the reason behind this? Thanks in advance for your response....
Hello Ashish, It sounds like it's picked up windows authentication and is allowing you to go right in. sometimes using the user account "admin" can cause this. As for the certificate, AADS will enrol itself with SMGR and will have a certificate signed by SMGR. Install the SMGR CA certificate into your trusted root certificate authorities section in Windows and try connect to the AADS server using FQDN. Alternatively you can use a custom generate certificate from SMGR and include the FQDN and IP address in the subject alternative name which should allow you to connect on the IP address as well as the FQDN of the AADS server and will resolve the certificate error.
Hello Avaya Guru, real good material you have here, thanks for the guidance, I wonder if, like in the SMGR, is it possible to add entries to the aads via CLI? thanks again!
Hey Noe! Thanks for subscribing! I try make my material as best as I can for you guys :) do you mean add entries to the host file like SMGR? It is possible to do this using the sudo command, but in 8.1.5 AADS that option doesn't seem to work anymore.
@@avayaguru6679 Would you please make video for Avaya workplace for window and cellphone agent features enables. it is very helpful for our remote workers.
Hello Avaya Guru, thanks for all your videos, I have been dealing with this message and already repeated the process few times but didn't see the error "Cause of Error: ERROR: relation "public.ipt_vdn" does not exist Position: 13" when syncing always fails.
So you need to upgrade your AADS. This is a common issue and you have to upgrade AADS. happens if you run a certain version of system manager like 8.1.3.5 or higher.

Hey Patrik, well, there is no way of not installing the LDAP part as it's part of the whole install, but if you choose not to configure the LDAP and go to the command line you end up with an AADS server that has the utility server configured but no LDAP and this is fine. I've put in many AADS servers without LDAP for clients before and it's absolutely fine. just make sure that you run the port 80 script and do a svc aads restart and you'll be good to go.
Hello, I found that AADS needs a "High Stratum" clock source. I kept trying to use my Windows 2019 server, which works for every other Avaya application. Once I used an external NTP source, the install completed successfully. I was told that a Windows Server NTP can be configured as a "High Stratum" source but have yet to give it a try.
It is possible to use a Windows server as a reliable NTP source. You have to make some adjustments in the registry for it to work. This might help you. www.interfacett.com/blogs/creating-standalone-ntp-server-windows/
Hello! LDAP supports the following directory servers for synchronization: Microsoft Active Directory 2012 Microsoft Active Directory 2016 Microsoft Active Directory 2019 OpenLDAP 2.4.21 IBM Domino 7.0 Novell eDirectory 8.8 SunOne Directory/Java System Directory 6.3
Hi Vatsal, You don't get root access on AADS, but you can just do a sudo vi /etc/hosts when logged in with your admin user and can edit the file that way.
If you’re using group membership like I did then check your filter is typed correctly and you have your user in that group. If you are using organisational unit then make sure your domain structure is correct i.e ou=something,dc=domain,dc=local and you can use something like cn=*
I just run into this video! It is awesome!!! You helped me close a missing gap!!! Awesome job!

Hi Vatsal, You don't get root access on AADS, but you can just do a sudo vi /etc/hosts when logged in with your admin user and can edit the file that way.

Can you guide me on this ??
Hi i am unable to change host name file with admin user pls help me
Use sudo to edit /etc/hosts but really you should be using DNS.
Hello Avaya Guru ..Any default password for root or su root account
Hello. There is no root access. You can use the sudo command for slightly elevated access but that is it.
In my case DNS reachability issue is there
Please explain.
