Who said kids can't get discipline? That makes no sense. It's also the generation who was raised "old school" that decided not to pass those values down to their kids and are the ones who made it "impossible" to raise kids lol.

The ones where the dad kinda stares in disbelief is probably because he’s surprised the mom didn’t get up just as quick. If I’d told one of my parents to shut up, I’d have to deal with both of them. I feel like my dad would have known something was up if my mom just sat back and took the disrespect.
Honestly, my kids would be more afraid of MY reaction than their fathers. He is consistent and predictable. I, on the other hand, could go from "ha ha, no seriously..." To "When your soul finally re-enters your body you're still doing it...." When my son was active Navy (stateside at the time, with fairly regular hours, so we were 85% sure he had time) his Dad texted him a couple times and was ignored. One text from me "Call Dad. Now." Dad's phone rang about 7 seconds after I hit send. He was out drinking with his buddies and didn't want a lecture, but realized the consequences of NOT calling would be worse than listening to a three minute safety speech.....that I turned into a 5 minute presentation I gave to EVERY sailor in the group. Half his ship called me Mom after that.....
