Oh, I just came upon this while looking for a few certain Hefti pieces. I like this performance and appreciate you all for taking this at his original tempo and in the spirit and feel. Neal was a dear friend of mine and I think he would be pleased with this performance. Thank you for keeping his music alive. He spoke often of "economics" in the creating of music. Some critics said his music was too "simple," but what they did not understand was the art of his style and how he could make a six-piece group sound like a 24 piece orchestra! Well done, band!
Lovely rendition of a timeless classic. Neal Hefti wrote like Basie played, spare and economically. They both got maximum mileage out of the notes they did play.
Na "Konzervu" tedy všechna čest! Ten sound docela drží pohromadě. Jinak tahle skladba zní naprosto úžasně, je-li hrána zásadně rychleji (na rozdíl od originálního aranžmá - já vím). Destr
Freunde, hört euch bitte das Original von Basie an.. Ihr seid viel zu langsam. Außerdem fehlen die Dämpfer... (PS. Das Original gibt es auch hier auf TH-cam !)
Great job…. Wed to hear the guitar, like the Basie number….also…..please get an upright bass. Playing slow is more challenging than fast, like Dinner with Friends. Intonation has to be spot on. Oh…..please mute the trumpet solo.

AWESOME! Ya’ll held that beautiful S-L-O--W tempo perfectly with No Rushing. BRAVO!!
Having played this great tune in a stage band for several years ..... I still love how it starts out and continues to use the upbeat throughout .
One of my absolute FAVORITE Basie tunes!
'Amen'. (I can't seem to find a sonically awesome and swingin' one)'
try listening to Neal Hefti's band play it. He wrote it.
@@suzanneterrey4499 I definitely have! I love it!!!

killer tempo!!
One of the best treatments of this old beauty that I've heard recently. Well done, guys!
Very good, you've got the Basie feel. Well done!!👍
Oh you've captured magical spirit of this piece so well!
Well done...
So good. Sounds like a 50 piece orchestra
