    Super scared cause I havent been using a straight razor for so long, will give it a try once I have a couple days off to heal if I mess up:) cool Video, the way you effortlessly move around to Show how you Position your Hand to do the back of of your head and all. Thank you man🙏🙏 seriously that's amazing to hear!! I planned on doing the cheek line up next!! I would suggest you grab a shavette for starting out but either is great. Little tip, if you get a straight razor, don't get the ones that are squared on the ends bc that point will get you!! The rounded tips are best in my opinion. When I do the next vid I will link some good ones down in the description.

    Great video Andrew! I've had a shavette for a year, but haven't used it yet! I 'no guard' buzz cut but I need to give a razor a go! I like the tip of using a cartridge razor on the difficult sections! 👏🙏

    • @kentuckybeardsman
      @kentuckybeardsman  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you 🙏🙏. Yes! That's a great way to practice with the blade on easy sections of the head so you get the time in with it and then you can move on to the back and crowns

  • @chrisjhart
    @chrisjhart 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I never found it intimidating - if you cut yourself more than a couple of times, just stop! I mean, it won't kill you. I think that a shavette does a great job, and I think shavette naysayers (usually diehard straight razor types) just haven't given it a proper chance. I've taken your advice about using your finger on the side of the blade and it works a charm. I also swear on having a bathroom cabinet with a mirrored inside - you can see exactly what's going on. Great video!

    I'm not yet shaving my head (been long haired for over 10 years now, but they are getting thinner and thinner), but when the time comes I'd like to know what I'm up to. How long were you not shaving in this video? Would shaving once or twice a week be enough to keep the head smooth-ish?

    Do you recommend starting with a shavette vs. a straight razor?

    • @kentuckybeardsman
      @kentuckybeardsman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would start with a shavette. Reason why is bc the real razor has to be sharpened often and it takes practice. Alot. Lol I say get a shavette and a cheap straight razor to practice sharpening. Then when you get the art of shaving with the shavette and the art of sharpening down get a good Dovo razar and it will last forever!

      Hey brother thanks for the support. Yes!! Much closer. Straight razors offer the closest shave I've ever felt. Even using a shavette does as well as long as you use a good blade like a Feather blades or the gillette Nacets.
