There are people who can chop you up for a few bucks and then there are people who actually care about their craft. Not sure why most barbers haven't figured out yet, that for receding hairlines, comb forward a small volume of hair and trim it to about 3/16". This will arrange a small "fake" hairline that hangs forward, crafting an overhang that is nearly immune to wind and sweat, thus disguising a hairline more forward.

      @@wllulu Three reasons;
      1. The client said his hair is thinning
      2. Dan said his hair is thinning
      3. I can see that his hair is thinning
      His hair line is moving back/He has low density up top and the hair follicles are thinning due to the shortening of the hair's anagen phase via to DHT which shrinks hair follicles over time causing it to look thinner and more brittle and fall out faster. Thats why there is a lot of scalp exposure up top and why Dan said to style the hair forward to cover up the scalp exposure on the crown.

    he isn't balding, just very thin and soft hair which provide by many reasons like anemia. covid, not enough nutrients from food, stress, smoking etc.
    one thing that i notice after close observation it mature hairline still with baby hairs which absolutely normal.
    i had same thing in summer when my mom got huge heart problem and after college graduation when i smoke 1.5 pack of cigarrets, 1-3 bottles of energy drink per day, sleep 1-3 hours or literally 0. I had huge postcovid syndrome when I could not eat meat, eggs and ate only one bun a day, compensating for hunger with cigarettes. Also a year ago i used accutane for treat acne which affected my hairs and hairline
    in august i went to barber and did 0 back and sides and around 3 cm on top. After a couple of days after haircut i notice that i CAN EAT. I started eat, sleep, a little bit of exercises and add vitamins. And after 2 month my hair roots become as dense as before and i cut all dead ends and now my hair looks and feels like 1 year ago before. Now i have same hairs and hairline that i had before covid and accutane.

    Now with the tighter look, he’d benefit from a new pair of glasses/frames.

    If you have this thinning hair issues, go to your dermatologist. The treatment to prevent the falling and recover like 75% of your existing thing hair is really easy. You just take a pill daily or every 2 days, according to what your doctor recommends and, apply a foam to your hair every morning. It even helps you to comb your style. That's it. Once you start the treatment you just need to be patient. I'm talking about 6 months. You'll see results very slowly but trust me, you'll recover a lot of your hair (not all of it) and you'll be very very happy. A year later you'll see even better results. 🤜🏻🤛🏻

    This is a really nice haircut his beard really adds to the overall look I don't think his hair is really that then maybe it seems a little thinner in person but if you look at the before picture it look thicker specially in the back but because this guy is so handsome he probably could get away with just about any haircut

    If he buzzed his hair now it would expose his scalp far more. Good cut for his thinning hair, Dan is correct of pushing the hair forward covering up the scalp exposure up top due to the hair miniaturization from androgenic alopecia. If he wants to reverse course on his hair thinning he needs a DHT inhibitor(finasteride). Might need minoxidil for growth as well.

      I'm turning 22, started noticing some hair thinning at 18/19. I've just been using topical minoxidil since then and it's worked pretty well so far. Will I need finasteride at some point though?

      @@zainm5919 Yep. Minoxidil won't solve the issue, you need a DHT inhibitor. If you go on finasteride I would recommend personally starting off on very small doses to see how you respond. Also even half dosages retain many of the same outcomes as the full dosage with far less side effects.

    Dan, what do YOU ask your barber for!? Please could we get a video of you getting your hair cut & styled!? Or do you do it yourself? Your current hair shape, style, length is EXACTLY what I'm looking for!
