Last summer wet & wild came out with their venice beach collection, I mixed a neon pink with blue to create the best ever purple shadow, which are so hard to find.

Thanks so much! I have deep set eyes and just learned that I need lighter shades on the lid to bring my eyes forward. I'm a painter, so I figured to blend shades but I'm also a frugal so I wanted to make sure by picking up a cheap, white, single pan of white would mix well before buying it (even thought it's like a dollar or something by Wet n Wild). Awesome!

Yes Jamie, it is so much fun mixing eye shadow shades and creating new shades.

Love this Marla! I would take the new color and mix in some rubbing alcohol to create a paste and then put it into a bead container to dry and will have a new single saved. : ) Teamwork!

Marla, you always have the best ideas. I never thought of mixing shadow like this. I'm still thrilled about the idea you had to use the Maybelline Tough as Taupe as my brow color. It is so perfect for me, I love it. xoxoxo Sandy

Yes, I owe my eyebrows to Maybelline. That stuff is the best. Good weekend Sandra.

Marla, I love this!!!! I frequently will mix colors on my brush as I am putting them on my eye but never thought to actually take them out and mix them. Do you put them loose in a container or press them into a pot? I could see if you don't like a color that you could create a color you are fond of and want to keep it for future. Thanks for this inspiration! ♥ Elle

Elle I actually store them loosely in clear 7-section stacking Pill Organizers that I get from my Container store.

Marla Robinson Should I be embarrassed to admit that I not only know what those pill organizers are but I have some in back up?! LOL Thanks again for an excellent idea. I will have to go through and find any shades I don't like and become a mad mixing artist.

I'm absolutely in love with your video
I just started loving make up, and the thought of mixing up color to create my own color occurred to my mind! As a beginner, I don't think it's wise to splurge so much on eyeshadows, but eyeshadow is one of products that can be confusing! So many color choices, but what we want might not be on one palette, but then again, how are we gonna make up our mind and decide to buy one already? Colox X is on palette A, but color Y is on palette B? Should we buy them all?
And I thought, why not just mixing these colors up? Make use those we already have! Maybe what we need is those three neon primary colors: blue, red, yellow. And maybe.. black and white too? Back to basic when we were kids and in drawing class!

So glad you enjoyed the video Annisa. I honestly haven't been mixing my eyeshadows lately but, after looking at this video again, it sparked my interest! Have a good day and have fun with color!
