I don't know much about sled racing and I generally know that it's not bad for the dogs. But I really feel like you kinda need poo breaks? Like just stop the sleigh once an hour to give the dogs a chance to poop?
We try to get them to poop before they run, and I stop my team if one of them needs to poop, except for one, I don't even know she's pooping until I see brown spots appearing. She doesn't care to stop and poop, just lifts her tail and keeps going 🤣 my other two however need to stop. So we all stop.
@@drew8570 Well yeah, but they are a bunch of dogs, so they might not all synchronize their pooping. Also, it kinda makes my point stronger that you can absolutely take poo breaks every few hours.
I wish I’d known this... when you have just ONE dog pulling you on a bike at 22mph and the go from full sprit to dead stop to 💩 there isn’t the rest of the team to carry them along, so you go flying off the bike, and get 3 stapes in your head....cus ya didn’t let go of the lead quick enough.
Were also musher. We dont get it. You should take the time for such things. Give and take. That's not how you treat brothers and sisters if you know what I mean. -you never stop learning. Only if you don't want it.
With a large team like that you wouldn't be able to use the brake in time, the dog would be done by the time the sled and rest of the team stops. They just start poopin and there's not much you can do. Even when we stop (I only have a 3 dog team) the brake drags for a bit, unlike a bike or dryland rig which stop quickly, sled brakes are pretty slow.
Lmfao these dogs were bred to do this for centeries. They have tough double layer coats, tough bones and feet, and have endless endurence and drive. These dogs love it. These dogs don't stop to go. They just go.

When you work for Amazon
I ask mine to halt when someone has to go. It can be hard to stop a fresh team, but It's as good a reason as any to practice random breaks.
That‘s a very skilled dog. Couldn‘t do the same.
When got to go you got to go

Haven’t seen any abuse comments and the sleds not going fast. Could have called for a quick stop.

ONCE AN HOUR?
If your dog has to poop once an hour, you need to get to a vet NOW.
All mine are 1-2 times A DAY.

Common sense would be for you to stop and let the dog poop.
How your boss expects your breaks to be like. (Not my joke, I'm plagiarizing it)
Let me start the camera I can tell by his walk hes about to do it "again" as she said. Let that thing get dragged rather then stopping
It’s easier to get them to go then stop
Someone had dinner last night
i feel bad for the dog
Why didn’t you stop to let him go? That’s messed up to do to that animal

Why don't you give the dog a break instead of laughing and filming it

Yeah it’s kind of annoying tbh
These are not breeds meant for the snow, this is so cruel
Actually, these are dogs mixed with huskies and hounds bred for sled racing
These are Alaskan Huskies, THE snow dogs !
Actually, they are LITERALLY meant for the snow
This is not funny situation at all.
You can't laugh if you know how miserably sledding dogs are abused.
Poor dogs..
Geez poor dogs. Let's put you out there and have you pull the sled while you have to shit
