TLDW
1. Download your server save from the link above.
2. Put the data in appropriate folder here(ish): ../Steam/steamapps/common/ARK/ShooterGame/Saved/
3. Steam: Library / Right-click on ARK: Survival Evolved / Properties / General Tab / Launch Options and paste this command line: -newsaveformat -usestore
4. Epic Game Store: Library / ARK Survival Evolved / Click the [...] / Toggle on Launch Options / Paste in this command line: -newsaveformat -usestore
So… I finally realized that the arkprofile is just your Steam ID #, for Example:
My Steam ID: steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197983019661/
= 76561197983019661.arkprofile
This will make searching for your profile much easier. That Said... renaming this profile is probably NOT a required step if you are still launching the game from the same Steam profile.
You can find this in Steam > Home > Account or just look in the URL when clicking on your profile.

When I quit ARK a couple of years back I merged my build into another tribe and left.
It is awesome to find my castle still where it was and unfinished from where I left off. Nearby there are two foundations and a dino gate that were part of my very first ever building. Wow, nostalgic and an end of a gaming era.
Recommendations for when you do get on. There will be a lot of players in the game (or rather their bodies). Will have to find them and destroy them. Recommend two commands for all the remnants of bases. Being 'takealldino' and 'takeallstructure' This will give you access to the other tribes bases so you can go ham on looting them. Destroy them or taking them over. My opinion (no way for me to confirm) is that a lot of these bases, players, and dinos are causing the lag as it's just your computer handling what a server used to handle. Also... I turned graphics all the way down, used the command 'DestroyWildDinos' and changed the settings so they don't spawn back. Saves you some framerates.... but still very laggy. I personally am on day two of figuring out how to fix this, and that's the best I've come up with so far. Hope this helps some of you.
May I ask where you found these commands? I am aware of this list but didn't see those: ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Server_configuration#Epic/EGS_players_whitelisting
Somewhat disappointing. My theisland PVE save file took 10 minutes to load up, I think I got to like 0.01FPS (1280p medium settings). The game appears to be CPU bottle-necked and it's not using multi-threading - I presume the original server was able to do this since I have a workstation as a computer and it should be able to handle the load. Also be warned on RAM use. My save file used ~20GB of RAM. Completely unusable game save. But at least it loaded me into my base lol.
@@racerrrz I am running it at 4k 3840x2160 50-70 fps and the game is sitting at about 10GB of ram usage in Single Player. I did run really poorly on the first run but was fine after. My PC specs: 5800x3d - 32gb ram - 7900xtx
I am having similar problem. islandpve750. 1-2fps. tried everything. Download other maps which work ok'ish. I think it might have something to do with the size of the save file? If anyone solves this frustrating issue. please let me know, thx
Findings:
admin command:
Playersonly - helps if you want to navigate.
destroyallenemies - fixes the low fps but also destroys your tames that are not cryod.
the STRYDERS are the Culprits. I uploaded my stryder @ transmitter. Destroyed all enemies. played for couple of hours, downloaded stryder and back to 1-2fps.
cheat DestroyAll TekStrider_Character_BP_C Does not seem to work.
Atleast i finally figured out what causes the low fps.

I did it without searching for my profile. I transferred all the files at once and it worked thank you so much
The loading is very slow when entering the game. I cannot play because FPS 5, even though I have a powerful computer
you are lucky cuz i did all but still cant get my character even tho i see my character in the sleeping pod :(
I unzip it and there is absolutely no server profiles in the file none
What server save did you download?
Why is my game fps so low like 4 to 5 fps after loading even in the lowest setting got 16 gb ram and 3050 ti and still can't run the game in decent fps
After playing with the server save, I exit, then if I play it again, it loads an empty map and I have to create a new character. Everything disappears. Does anyone have an idea? Several servers have this error (382, 510, 872, 919).
If you lag like crazy when you load in you need to clear all tamed dinos using the destroyallenemies command. You’ll have to look up the exact command if it doesn’t work since I can’t fully remember it. I just copy paste it. That is the quickest way at least to make it more playable. It’s also why official servers lag like crazy on pve when mass breeding bases exist. Imagine if we didn’t have cryos. There’s also other things such as the bases that cause lag but the dinos are definitely the most impactful. Also you can force yourself into a tribe by looking at the structure and see who is in it and all of that good stuff. You can loot the bodies and see what each player has. Kind of broken really that they released these now because people will be plotting on pvp for raids and whether it’s worth it.
I can remember when there were no cryo's! Terrible!

I want to do this with servers my character wasnt on. I unzipped the files and transferred them but no ark profile for me. Is there a way around this or did i need to be on server when the save occurs for officials? I had been to these servers but tranferred off.
You (your character) needed to be on the server before the last save when the server shutdown.
and for who wanna find the string in a folder of data you can use this code in the powershell not CMD : Get-ChildItem -Recurse 'C:\path\to\folder' | Select-String 'your profile name'

TakeAllStructure This command gives me control over everything on the map even if it's not mine.
I cannot read the profiles shows wingdings instead. Even when i change the files to Notepad.
I did not have this issue when opening .arkprofiles in notepad however the .arktributetribe files were not readable.
What happens when you dont have a profile file for your character. I was on my sever and made sure all this, its correct files. Its like they forgot to put the profile files in...
You could use any of the profiles as your own and re-take over all your stuff as you become the server admin essentially. Really your only other option is wait until the second save at the end of the month.

Hello! Epic has the game! Loading takes approx. 5 minutes for me too. When you manage to enter, it lags uncontrollably. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thank you very much!
I would hop into God mode and start removing other players bases. Start with any of the crazy large\high part count ones.

i'm curious hom many memory will be request tu run the save proprely^^ any idea?
I use about 10-11GB but the more bases on the server when it saved will need more memory will be needed.
I dont get it, how can the survive the ark site know what my steam ark profile is and offer my data as opposed to just everyone's stuff. I see no arkprofile document.
They don’t know. They simply exported the data that was on the server after the last server save was completed. If your character was on the server when this happed it should be there.
@2tonicmonkey well all the downloads had my steamed ark file just none had the atkprofile file, yet I fo have my character just none of its kit or anything. Lol all good

The only reasons your profile would not be in the list are: Your character was not on the server when the save occurred or the incorrect server save was downloaded. It possible that there was an issue on Wild Cards side but there is no way to know. Re-check you downloaded the correct server files.
@@2tonicmonkey my character was on their and still is with my base ect i loaded it all again today, this is actually not just on the 1 server but 2 of the official servers im on, i think wildcard messed up

Yes, you can download any server and take ownership of any player that left a character on that server.

its so funny how they save players data. instead of haveing a database cluster they went with the cheapest way by saving files on servers 😂. hope the second one does not do that
