Ludwig has honed their percussive mastery for more than a hundred years, having released their first drums in 1909. Their time-tested craftsmanship is on full display with their NeuSonic shell pack, available in 3- and 4-piece configurations, multiple sizes, and a laundry list of eye-catching colorways. Each NeuSonic 6-ply cherry/maple shell is infused with modern engineering via Ludwig’s RFST technology, a method of meticulous hand-molding with the assistance of radio-frequency reinforcement that increases the dimensional stability of each drum while bolstering the iconic Ludwig sound. Sweetwater’s Nick D’Virgilio takes the NeuSonic 4-piece shell pack for a spin to explore this exciting blend of heritage design and contemporary technological innovation. Check it out!

6 ply drums according to website but video says 7.?
Remember when Neusonics cost $999 for a 3 piece kit? I remember. The original tagline was "A made-in-America kit for under $1000!" Now, the new version of the Neusonics cost $1800 to $1900 for a 3 piece kit.
....and they had those awful "stiletto" spurs! I got mine then and it's a great kit still! Ludwig owes all of us early buyers a set of elite spurs in my opinion!
Agreed. That still doesn't change the way I feel about the kit. Incredibly light to lug around and it has that classic Ludwig sound.
What are you expect? I remember when I could go food shopping for $200 and now it cost $350 such as life.
You can get the velvet black ones w a 24 inch kick for i think 1300
It’s those nick dVirgilio sticks that did it for me
Can’t believe how much they sound like the classic maple line 😮❤
This drum is absolutely gorgeous! 🤩
Lovely tuning and playing as always Nick!!!
That wrap!
My grandfather had a set fron the 50s. Red 4 piece. Wish they went my way .
Beautiful finish
I gave up drumming a few years back and haven’t watched these in awhile. Boy do I miss Nick’s drumming vids
Beautiful brush playing. Kit looks & sounds great.
I literally just picked up a Neusonic snare yesterday! Was messing around with it and it sounds great.
how much did you give for it?
I found an older 2020 Digital Black Oyster for 1700 3 pieces..
not sure if the 2020 oysters are on the same level as the ones now in 2024?
@@framestomind7548 it was originally 399, on clearance for 250. It was a great sounding snare I couldn’t pass up the price!
Maple and Cherry makes me hungry. I've gotten my kick drums professionally cut down to size (I'm not trying that for the first time lol). Glad we can have a variety of 14, 16, and 18 depths with modern drum manufactures.
FINALLY.... something different than the Same ol' Same ol'
And yeah that is a killer finish indeed. Beautiful colors.
Beautiful Sound!!
Sweet Sounding Drum's. Sound's Awesome Guy's
Nice! Love that drum set
Beautiful and great introduction!
Beautiful finish!
Awesome!!!🌟🌟💯💯
I hope oneday i get ludwig drum, ...👍🥁🔥
Man, Nick is so cool! 😊
Got a Satinwood from SW!
Great kit!
Toms sound OK but not rich.Your absolutely right in saying try different heads etc
Gorgeous look and sound, but needs a 13" tom to complete the range.
Didn’t see the links to mics or cymbals…pls provide
Excellent video! They sound amazing! Where does this line stand in Ludwig's current offerings? Is it consider a pro drum set, or midrange? Just curious.
Mid range made for the gigging professional, to intermediate player. But definitely pro sounding, pro quality build..
These are the same tier as Tama W/B
Nick can make cardboard box kit sound awesome😂
Wishing I could afford a NeuSonic Kit
About 3 yrs years ago it was affordable. Used to go on sale for $999 ish. The kit that was built for the working drummer who couldn't afford a Classic Maple or Legacy Maple. At least they've improved the finishes on the Neusonic. 😛
how to choose between
Neo Sonic Digital Black Oyster for 1700 dollars (is from 2020 right??, but are they as good as the new ones in 2024?)
Gretch Catalina club and jazz for 800 dollars? (is it still good?)
or PDP Daru Jones New Yorker 1300 dollars? (is it just a marketing gimmick?)
or the Sonor AQ2 jungle kits? (are these stable and serious?)
...
Any advice?!
what is truly good and will last for long?
thanks!
He is playing with whisk brooms!!
The kit sounded better with the wooden sticks. Prefer wooden snares. 👍🏾
Nice drums but that really harsh steel snare ring ruins it for me.
Remo UT "= " Utter Trash". About like coated sandwich bags. I'd go with real remo vintage amb or emperors. Big improvement.
That's why Nick said, after you''re done with the heads, try something else... code for they're garbage ? I dunno, the UT's aren't that bad. This drumset sounded really good in this video. But hey what do I know, I ain't an audiophile 😉
They sound like drums.
Why don't these Drum companies make again brass bent over in like Slingerland Drums Did????
