    I like that there is no need to fill up the pool because the cleaner is recycling the water, just putting back in what is coming out. Pretty great invention.

    Nice job, this is similar to mine, I also added a drinking water charcole filter in between the pump and the main filter. For a quicker filtration and less wear on the pump and electricity bill. Comes out crystal clear using no chemicals.

    This is really great. I saw a pool pro using one and started searching for how to build one when I came across this video. Pool pumps are expensive so I love that you found a more affordable one for this setup. My pool filter is terrible when using the vacuum. I just don't get enough suction not to mention it is a hassle to setup. Love this solution. Thanks for sharing!

      Glad you enjoyed it. It has worked well for us. Takes 5 mins to set up and then it’s ready to work. I may shorten some of the pipe to see if that makes it easier to prime.

    I have all the items needed except the cart and I bet there is one on our property somewhere. We have a 15 x 30 above the ground pool that is surrounded by trees and an empty dirt lot next door. Had a guy come to clean the pool and he just carried a pump and a hose. I loved it and said oooo I need to do that. But yours is even better because it recycles the water. No waiting to fill pool back up. Thank you for sharing this great idea.

    Very nice. My problem is / was, vacuuming on waste would lower my water level so fast. Using the filter setting it would fill up my D.E. filter grids quickly.

    i have recently put together a similar idea after having some weir issues using my skimer to vacuum my pool. The issue I'm having it that I am collapsing my pick up hose now. Running a 1 hp Hayward and that thing sucks the pick up hose together and collapses it. These are great investment to clean your pool and not drag that crap through your main filter.

    If you have a Polaris 280 along with the Polaris booster pump, run it just an hour or 30 mins a day especially with a easy pool like that. You are looking at 5 years at least before the booster pump needs replacing.
    I understand you had these setups before but you probably ran it too much, also the Polaris 280 is very easy to repair, just have to know what to look for that needs replacing.

    If you are just filtering pool water and returning it to the pool, i dont think youd need the multiport valve on top. You're just pulling water in
    ..filtering it and sending it back to the pool. Of course, as you mentioned, you do have the full unit availabe as a replacement if your other assembly fails. Nonetheless...great job. You mentioned difficulty priming the pump, what do you think the issue is with that?

    • @HeritageFarmsTexas

    Question- why does your pump discharge line 'go vertical' above the filter, and then 'go down' into the filter intake? Seems like a waste of PVC pipe and elbows. Or, is that necessary to ensure the filter fills up completely and thus filters more efficiently. TIA

      @@HeritageFarmsTexas thx for the quick reply...is there a reason you are connecting the pump to the filter with this rather long pipe setup? Is that because of water pressure? could a shorter pipe-length setup be used or will that be problematic? thx again!

    Hey there!! Fellow Texan here.. I bought the same pump, same hose, same filter same vacuum head.. used a 2 wheel dolly... plumbed it up, wired it.. and.... cannot get the dang pump to prime. Poured buckets of water.. checked for leaks on the inlet side.. used hose clamps, etc..etc..etc.. pump just tires to get going.. tried using the existing pool pump outlets to force water through the hose and water comes out but it does not prime. Just doesn't have the suction to prime.. any thougts?

    • @HeritageFarmsTexas
      @HeritageFarmsTexas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, not sure what’s going on. Here is what I do: I submerge the hose going to the vacuum head to fill the hose with water. I make sure hose is fully extended in pool in a straight line. I then open the filter valve on top, then pour water into pump, and then turn it on. It struggles for a min or so, but ultimately takes off. When it’s sprays water out top of filter, I close that valve and I’m ready to go to work.

    • @HeritageFarmsTexas

    • @HeritageFarmsTexas
      @HeritageFarmsTexas  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, I’m no scientist, but it filters out particles from the water. So I’m assuming dirt, algae, etc. as you can see in my video, we had a lot of dirt algae in the pool and it immediately cleaned up. Hope that helps. I also “shocked” the pool with a ton of chlorine which also helped.

    Keep chlorine in that pool slip some chlorine tablets into your skimmers and floaters you wont have any issue if you simply blast it with chlorine .

      Using the pools system, it's vacuum to waste which means filling - refilling the pool, this is the best solution.

      @Imwright720 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nktwrk73 the pools vacuum doesn’t go to waste. Depending on how you hook it it can go through your skimmer basket then filter or just through your filter. It always goes back to the pool after. The only time you go to waste is when your removing water for some reason.
