Play to a metronome at 1/2 the desired speed and increase the tempo by 10 once you master playing it slowly. This unlocks my ability to play anything on bass and sing simultaneously. It works every time, it just requires more patience for us normal humans.

Chromatically speaking, I play the same warm up. It really helps get your right hand timed with the left, and alternate picking. It involves much more that you think. And you can always challenge yourself with speed.
For more difficulty, you can isolate the fingers that are the weakest and just do a little staccato run like that. Same idea though, and it really helps with finger independence and moving quickly down the neck

Cool. My actual guitar teacher at local shop taught me this. Start to up the neck from nut to the last fret too. Then go backwards from last fret to the Nut first fret. But I add finger stretch by more one fret apart. Then you get the classic Mick Thomson or Paul Gilbert ninja 12th fret pose 😅🤘👍😆 Again when my teacher taught me this same thing he told me that no body other player will show this or do this. Which is flat lie because well Mick showing this. But I found out in early 1990s i noticed my other guitar heros doing this same warmup. One to see do this is Kirk Hammett during a year in a life of metallica during recording black you see Kirk doing this run pattern sitting there not looking at guitar and laughing etc. during a break. Man the pickups sound great.👍🤘

That's been my warmup for 15 years, too. Best way to get the fingers moving, and add in some big weird chords to stretch a bit.

Another one you can do is, index, pinky, middle, ring back-and-forth on the strings or also index, ring, middle, pinky as other exercises.
