I totally agree. I get it that doing it in a studio means it's much quicker to set it up and to control the lighting and sound, but… even though they are professionals who are used to this, it would be so much nicer if it was a sitting room somewhere that was actually convivial to an intimate conversation.
i find it so fascinating josh took a bit to convince himself he could play patrick because i’ve never seen a more believable performance on screen in my life
@@sonablom The reconciliation scene in the end is so powerful. Pretty sure I saw Josh say in an interview they did that scene in one take, too. Legends.
@@pengu2935That’s not true… I agree with the first part, but the rest is nonesense, lol. It’s not based on any novel, it was an original story by Rian Johnson.
Josh O’Connor was absolutely brilliant in La Chimera, I left the theatre completely dazed and enthralled and convinced he’s THE calibre film star of the new Hollywood generation, fantastic in Challengers and The Crown ofc
Their chemistry is off the charts! Love Josh for bringing up the logistics of juggling shift work with auditions - he’s previously said the same thing Craig says here, that at some point he took a leap of faith, quit his jobs & bet on himself as an actor. Reminds me of Graham Norton’s memoir when he was 27 & realised that if he didn’t quit & give his all to stand up, he’d be a professional waiter, not a comedian who waited tables to pay bills.
Most Actors on Actors are two actors praising each other’s work. This one feels like two blokes chatting at a coffee shop. You know it’s casual when Daniel isn’t stuttering his way thru the interview 😂 (My first time using the word “bloke”, but hey they’re Brits!)
The perfect pairing!!!! Watching them together it’s like my favorite Uncle and my favorite Nephew finally being able to sit down and talk about each others work. Because they have been,so busy working, they haven’t had the time to schedule a hangout.
Josh has the most radiant smiling eyes! He clearly feels joyful easily and expresses it so strongly. I felt happy simply from watching his own happiness. I haven't seen anyone like that before. (His "Challengers" character Patrick does the same thing and it worked so well for that movie.)
I'm glad they spoke about the lack of theatrical release, i hope netflix actually takes it as a wake up call and make the effort to change that somehow
I saw glass onion in the theatre, it had a one week theatrical release here in the uk , before Netflix started streaming it, fingers crossed for the same thing for knives out 3
I don't mean this in an argumentative way but when Rian and Daniel made the $400M deal with NETFLIX, what were they expecting would happen? Netflix is a streaming service and I don't think they've ever mentioned wanting to move into the theatrical space. It's strange to me that they made the decision to sell their franchise to Netflix, which is the only major studio without a theatrical arm, and are now complaining about the lack of theatrical distribution. Does anyone know if the original deal had mentioned a theatrical release?
I love the dynamic they have going on here, they're so funny together- 37:43 hilarious how pleased Josh looks when Daniel calls him funny Josh is truly the pookiest pookie ever ☺
Josh deserves all the supporting noms, I truly hope he gets nominated for lead even for the Oscars. His ability to have transformed into Patrick when he’s the opposite irl is amazing. It’s hard to recognize they’re the same actor.
At this point I just love the style of what Craig is going for in his look. He really does look like if James Bond retired and became a fashion manager as a new profession.😅👏
Josh saying he had no friends in new york 😭😭 takes me back to when he described his table of misfits at the emmy’s and how they were all nice but had no mates there
I still can’t believe that me and Luca Guadagnino lived in the same city and now he is creating such masterful projects around the world. Definitely my favorite director at the moment, a visionary 🎬
LUI È IL MIO IDOLO. Sono aspirante regista , abito vicino a Crema e solamente il fatto che lui c'è l'abbiamo fatta mi rassicura un botto. Non ironicamente il mio maestro spirituale

Man, the chemistry was crazy. Was lucky enough to see Glass Onion in a movie theater and it was one of the best movie theater experiences I’ve had! Can’t wait to see the third film in a theater as well, here’s hoping Netflix makes it possible for more people
What a delightful conversation. Two actors at the top of their game enjoying a relaxed, trusting, empathetic, revealing conversation as actors do, 'in the business' over coffee. Curious, intelligent, listening, risk-taking actors whom, in my view, are under-celebrated.
Sooo love Josh!! He seems so sincere and generous, not to mention, obscenely talented and easy on the eyes!!! I’ve seen everything he’s done!! Literally just watched, “Gods Own Country” for the umpteenth time a few days ago! 🥰🥰
1:16 so that's how Josh landed his role in Challengers... by getting sweaty in front of Luca.😂 Both of them really adore each other and Daniel Craig is actually enjoying the convo here, they'll definitely be great together in Knives Out 3.
Daniel Craig is so effortlessly cool, and Josh O’Connor is the uncoolest guy in the coolest way possible, I am so going to love this, I know before even watching.
I've thought for years that Josh should be the next Bond. Seeing the films he has gravitated toward I honestly doubt he would be interested in the role, but it is cool to see him chatting with Daniel nonetheless.
Daniel Craig is just lovely 😊. I was quite surprised by his ability to draw out and interview Josh! I would love to see him do this type of work again.
seeing two great famous men, one of whom has played one of the great modern male archetypes talk about "the artifice of masculinity" just makes me rejoice - they are free from the prison of gender performance and I think that's a key ingredient to their authenticity and warmth as people
they kinda teased here that in Knives out 3 they're mostly together alot on screen, im assuming that Josh's character might be the Protagonist of this movie
In my mind, Daniel Craig is undoubtedly the perfect 007.I didn't hold back when I saw the sacrifice in the cinema. Now I am excited when I watch it. Many people think Pierce Brosnan is the most tasteful 007. Although both of them run through my memory, I still think Daniel Craig is the first in my heart.
I feel like these episodes should be in way more homey, cozy rooms. The setting rarely fits the energy of the conversations between any actors
Agreed, and the actors always comment on how bare the set is😂
They did have a cosier set for some interviews in like armchairs and a living room type situation which makes more sense
totally agree

No, I think it’s good because they remember they’re still “performing”. They’re not telling us everything! Just what they are comfortable sharing!
Josh and Daniel for the whole interview: soo Luca Guadagnino 😂👏
I was gonna say the same thing the title should've been - Josh and Daniel gushing about Luca Guadagnino 😂
this is just 42 minutes of Daniel and Josh riffing bits and I'm not mad at it
