Solo makes the best of everything . There main office is not fat from me and I know some big dogs there. Because of emissions Germany said to hell with USA but they still do backpacks here and mist blowers. They use to bring there chainsaws here and weed eaters but no more. Solo is the best
in the instructions it says to use 25 -1 for the 1st 3 to 5 tanks or so to break in the motor and then switch to 50-1!!!! this unit is not cheap so I'm sure ppl look over there instructions carefully and did not just take your word for it anyway.
Stihl 430 or 450 is far better than these Solo blowers. I have both brands and have used them both extensively. The Solo parts are so cheaply made. the harness clips are made of plastic and will break. I've already had to replace mine a few times. The Stihls are made with medal O rings and are much better and I haven't had to replace one yet. The solo blower sometimes doesn't blower out a consistent mist when aiming up. The blower wand will shake when aiming up. This is something I've tried to figure out for years. Sometimes debris will clog the nozzle on the end of the unit that you would turn to let out more or less spray. I've cleaned the whole unit thoroughly and it still does this. I've sent the whole unit to SOLOUSA and they sent it back and still does this. I've never had one singe problem with the Stihl in this area and the 430's, they can blow twice as far as the Solo blower so you can get deeper into the woods without having to go in yourself. Parts....This was the deal breaker for me. If you ever need parts and they don't have them, you have to wait forever because they are shipped direct from Germany. I once waited on a part for over 2 months. Stihl's are made in the USA and I get parts very quickly. I also have way more Stihl dealers around me than solo dealers. The only place i know that works on SOLO is Northern Tool. I once took my blower in to have it serviced about 5 years ago and the guy said he had never seen one of them before. One last thing and it's a small one. The screens. Solo has black screen and Stihl has a white screen. I have lost a bunch of solo screens and not one Stihl screen. They both with sometimes pop off but because the Stihl is white I can see it better. It's hard to find a black one most of the time. GL and choose wisely!
