Maybe training the fingers and then moving on to progressively strengthen the supporting muscles from the fingers towards your biggest muscles could have worked better
Bro dont 'hope'. Say I will. If you really want it, you can get it. Looking at the guy im 100% sure you will be eben stronger than him with working out 3 times a week. Get it king ‼️
This is cool because it shows how serious goals take time, persistence and dedication. Not the usual “2 month transformation” crap social media is filled with. Very impressive feat
I trained those with no resistance. The key to work up to it safely, is to do scapular movements first. Raise your body as much as you can without moving your elbows. Hang first to strengthen your hands and get your arm and torso bones used to the load. Then scapular inch-ups to strengthen your back and shoulder muscles. Naturally, your body will ask for more and you'll do the full motion pull-ups
I love how you squeezed at the top too because you were thinking “I better make this one fucking count!” Good on you dude that is unbelievable dedication
As Bruce Lee said "dont fear the man who's practiced 1000 different moves, fear the man who has practiced a single move 1000 times" or something like that.
390 days, that really puts it into perspective. I started running two months ago and I was getting discouraged because I noticed no results. You saying it took you 390 days to achieve this feat gives me hope that my stamina and strength will improve in time
Stamina builds very fast. This dude was making continious progress, he just crossed a arbitrary boundary after a long time. You should watch some videos about how to increase running abilities, because there are a lot of mistakes that can stunt you progress.
Physical prime? I’m 42, 5’6”. Exactly one year ago today, the day after Thanksgiving, I was 212 lbs. and I decided to lose weight. By May I was 143 and decided to work on my physique. Started calisthenics. Did tons of body weight exercises, then started to learn calisthenics moves. Started with the L-sit. By the end of the summer I was doing L-sits into handstands. Now I’m working my way to a full planche. I’m in the best shape of my life right now at 42. Even better than when I was working out and looking cut when I was 25. In fact, I have more muscle definition and see more muscles on me than I ever have before. Physical prime has nothing against mental fortitude……
The science may have changed, but i remember reading that prime age for men is 25-35 for one attribute and 35-45 for another. In the younger years, you're more energetic. In the older years, you're stronger.
Trying to get back into it after an injury has always been the hardest for me when it comes to ego lifting lol. "I lifted this weigjt 4 months ago there's no reason i cant do it now"
@@bryanhugh8905 and you end up just getting more injured. This is what made me stop exercising for a year because i just lost the passion when i was away from it for so long
Congratulations! I tried to learn one-arm pull-ups a few years ago, but in the process I injured my shoulder so badly that I couldn't raise my arm above my head without experiencing excruciating pain for over a year. I should have done some research before attempting it. I didn't know how dangerous it could be.
Damn. 390 days of perseverance. I can’t do a pull up yet, and I do 50 lbs on the assisted pull up machine. I now realize how long I’ll need to persevere to achieve a regular pull up
Love the consistency, don’t quit after this tho. There’s so much more that you can do now that you’re this strong. Just need to start with balancing out those muscles.
He has got much more - practical understanding how physical training works. It looks simple, but thousands of people can't progress no matter how hard they exercise .
Just a few tips if you ever lose it and have to retrain it: 1. Don't stick to only powerlifting bands. Buy some Theratubes as well. The yellow tube is incredibly light. 2. Don't only do sets of 1-2 reps. Build up to the hypertrophy range. Using single strand Theratube yellow, I got up to sets of 9 reps. It got me to 7 reps per side without the band.
Doing pull up negatives is a great way to achieve this with far less risk of injury. Do a regular pull up, take one hand off the bar and guide yourself down as slow as possible, rinse and repeat.
It only takes like 5 minutes a day to climb up there though, that's why calisthenics are so effective. Takes 10 minutes and makes you strong af. I don't consider myself a gym bro at all anymore and yet I'm more jacked than I was when I went to the gym
He is not. He is just incredibly light weight. All strong men contests are build off of fat bulky dudes that could never do this move, but they are still 10 times stronger than this guy.

Huge tip cause i went through this process too: pull yourself up with both hands and at the top release one hand and hold yourself up as long as you can going down as slow as possible (build some strength before trying this) it only took me a little over a month to be able to do my first OAP using this method, as well as other methods like using a shirt as like a resistance band (i didnt have a resistance band lol) and doing the easy version of one arms by grabbing my wrist as support gradually moving my support down my arm till i could do one while just holding onto my shoulder. And don't try to progress too fast! This move causes so much stress both throughout your arm and on your shoulder, even when getting fairly close i nearly injured my arms multiple times!
Remember it took him more than a year to achive this so don’t you even question if you will ever reach your goal! With enough work and time put into it you will.. so don’t you guys ever give up!

Very nice! Congrats! One observation: I had a bar in my house at 45 years old. I started this exercise at 46 and succeeded at 49. People do not need to be in their prime to do this :)
I’ve done them. The hard part is the grip strength. You probably have the upper body strength before you have the grip strength. You can do a version gripping your wrist with your off hand too, which feels more natural and stable.
