I’m a serious Toyota/lexus enthusiast and you’re my first pick on TH-cam bro ! I’m from Baltimore Maryland ! I got a gx470 (05) and a 2000 3rd gen 4Runner lifted 5 inches on 33 inch tires with 292k miles no check engine lights runs like new !
Thank you for your videos! I’ve honestly learned so much from them. I picked up a 89 4Runner and your videos have taught me so much about it and problems I’m facing.
This is so awesome! It’s awesome to see you revive this older Toyotas. I hope to see you do a full body work and respray and also interior detail/restore on some of your Toyotas mainly your Hilux and your Toyota Corolla!😀
If I didn’t have many vehicles like you, I’d buy that pickup. I had a 86 SR5 and I loved it. I drove it from South Carolina to Oceanside, California all around for four years and back the North Carolina. Bought it second hand in 95 and it was great. I really didn’t want to get rid of it but needed a car instead. They are tough little trucks.
i used to have one of those trucks. the transmission went at 242k miles. replacing it was more than just buying a newer truck. that still makes me sad.
I really enjoyed this Video. I am impressed with your knowledge of engines. It’s nice to see a young Person really learning and interested in Cars. Well done!
The fuel pump is powered via the circuit opening relay from 1 of 2 circuits. Airflow meter circuit is for when it is running. The other circuit powers it when you're actually cranking.
I am a Toyota fan boy because of my 1997 Toyota Hilux and the Hilux has done more than 195000 miles and wnen l bought five years ago no service history or records it has been a running and registered for the past five years has had an absolute full service done on the Hilux and another thing is the cylinder head has never been off it and l don't have a electric fuel pump on it because it has a carburator and the mechanical fuel was replaced before l brought it you got the Toyota ute running and you had all the parts to repair the Toyota ute well l don't keep a stock pile of parts to do anything what you did to this Toyota ute but well done you brought a Toyota ute back so some one else can enjoy the Toyota ute
That’s why I preaching not to use the Felpro headgasket. And if you read the reviews on the Chinese heads, they all round off the cam lobes in no time. That’s why I buy all the 22r/e heads I find, they are getting difficult to find. The previous owner didn’t do anything wrong maintenance wise, they just made a poor decision with the reman purchase.
Love these videos. Thanks for putting them out. First truck was a 1992 Toyota 4x4 single cab. I’ve had a 1996 2wd Tacoma and 2000 2wd Tacoma. Currently have a 2001 4Runner and 2012 Tundra. Still miss that 1992, though. If you don’t mind, what state do you live in? Would interested in possibly buying the one you fixed in the video.
How about an auction for your subscribers? I'll throw in an airline ticket back home if you deliver to Seattle! My last vehicle was a 74 HiLux, which I drove over the mountains to Seattle in 1989. I sold it for a pittance when I moved downtown. This would be perfect for street parking... less likely to get broken into or stolen!
That’d be great, but I’m not sure I’d be interested in trying to get the logistics figured out, and also not sure about the legal side of how that would all work.
Hay JOHN JOHN MY twin brother you told me about all thoeses up grads man remember I DON'T HAVE TIME TWO BLEAD HAHAHA HAHAHA HAHAHA I NEW YOU WERE FOLLOWING ME HAHAHA WHATS UP MAN YOU MANEEEACT HAHAHA
for next time....you needed to put zinc paste on the cam lobes before you fired it up as well as use a high zinc oil...as the zinc in the oil won't adhere to the cam and and protect the lobes/rockers until the engine makes it up to operating temperature...the paste will provide metal to metal protection until this temperature occurs....modern off the shelf oils do not have the proper amount of zinc..especially for non-roller rockers/cams....you may have already doomed the replacement cam lobes as you can't reverse the process...but it's a toyota so maybe not.
I know exactly what you mean, I would agree more, but the cam was already broken into a different engine and used so I figured the oil and assembly lube would be sufficient
@@redlineranch. it's easy enough to pull the valve cover off a couple of hundred miles from now and take a look at the cam...a lot of assembly lubes have higher zinc just for this purpose...some have moly or both which works as well.
What's interesting is the link between Harrison GM Radiators and one inside a Toyota pickup? Is that a different Radiator someone installed? Or is that OEM being something i have no idea about?

The truck body will rust to dust before those Toyota engines give out.
Get a couple of the turbo rustoleum cans and give the bed a repaint
