    Hi, great video.
    Have a question lets say i took bus A going one direction than i decide to go back .can i use transfer to use same bus A but opposite direction.
    Thanks for you time

      Hi and great question. You can only use the transfer for a different bus. So if you took say the B47 bus and wanted to take the same bus in a different direction you can't use the transfer. However if you take the B47 to Ave K and then transfer to the B6 to Bay Ave you can use the transfer. Also you only have 2 hours to use the transfer. I hope this helps 😊

    Thank you for the video Queen. My question is how does one get a metrocard to be able to get on many buses without having to pay quarters everyday and can you explain the whole process of getting the card and being able to get as much ride and how to set that up.

      I realized I didn't answer your question completely. My apologies. If you use an unlimited meteocard you can use it from bus to train or bus to train, train to train etc. You won't have to worry about paying additional fares. We have weekly unlimited metrocards and monthly. This means you can use it everyday for a week (7days) or a month.

      The MTA offers metrocards specifically for seniors and disabled riders. Those metrocards look different from this one. You can find out more here: new.mta.info/fares/how-to-apply-reduced-fare-metrocard

    So if I have an ordinary metrocard, and my destination takes 2 different buses to get there. I take my first bus and ask him/her for a transfer card and they give me a new card that says transfer bus?

    • @AppliedESL
      @AppliedESL  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question. If you have a regular metrocard, you automatically get a transfer from bus to train or bus to bus ...HOWEVER the transfer only applies from one bus to another, not one of the same line. For example, you want to take the M55 bus to the Q35. You can transfer with your regular metrocard. But you can't take the M55 to M55 because that's not considered a transfer. Now with the transfer card, this applies if you use coins ($2.75) to pay and request a transfer. That transfer is only good for 2 hours and used to transfer from bus to bus. You can't use it to transfer from bus to train. I hope this helps 🥰

      @@AppliedESL does this also apply to a student metro card? Does that mean within 2 hours of swiping, I can get on another bus without using up a swipe?

    • @AppliedESL
      @AppliedESL  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. For student Metrocards, you can transfer from bus to train and vice versa. You don't have a 2 hour limit but you do have a limit on how many transfers you can use per day.

    Wait! Doesn't the machine process a new card?

    • @AppliedESL
      @AppliedESL  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it does once you pay the bus fare and request a transfer. A new one will come out of the machine. You will have 2 hours from the time you received it to use it before it expires. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching!

      @@AppliedESL I meant when the metrocard expires, customers can go to the machine! The unit recognizes the card expires, & issues a new one to the customer!

    • @AppliedESL
      @AppliedESL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For this type of transfer once it expires you can't use it. However if you are using a regular Metrocard and your card is expired you can go to the machine and get a new card but there will be a $1.00 charge for the new card. Hope this answers your question
