To avoid breakage, I'd wait until they loosen up. This is different for everyone. I'm always able to pull my hair up same day, but the lady that braids my hair doesn't braid too tight, so it all depends on you, but I'd say two weeks is definitely plenty of time.
I've had my braids for 3 weeks now but the ends of my natural hair is poking out of the synthetic braid hair. Is there anything I can do to neaten them up again or should I take them out?
