Base Running. It's an art of baseball that can often be overlooked. Is it just about stealing bases? Well, no. In MLB there is so much more to the skill of base running than that. Such as deciding to take an extra base on your own hit, advancing extra bases on your teammate's hits, breaking up double plays, and much more. Base running is something that is (practically) unavoidable for a hitter in MLB, so being proficient at it can be extremely valuable. All in all, a player can really heighten their offensive production with elite base running skills. However, it gets even more interesting when you start to look at base running proficiency across entire teams, which is the goal for today. Specifically, we'll be looking at the year 2010 in MLB. 2010 was a special year in baseball where according to BsR (Base Running Statistic), two teams made a historic mark on Major League Baseball. Here's how the best and worst base running teams in MLB history happened in the same year.

I watched 2 baseball teams from 2010 run the bases for about 2 months, highly recommend everyone to do the same. We’re coming up on the 1 year anniversary of this channel already and I have a different kind of video planned because of that, but we'll see how it turns out. I promise the next one will be out a lot sooner, I hope.

I was a catcher and got courtesy ran for a lot in high school, but I had a really high base running IQ, so if the game was on the line I would always run for myself
