5 of our team members decided to reach the last point of Kapuche glacier to take final photo-shoots and this is what happened to us; it became a lifetime, and an unforgettable bittersweet experience to us. Thanks to the owner of Kapuche lake hotel in Kapuche, Mr Rudra Gurung for your enormous support and for guiding us to safety afterwards.
We least expected that we would encounter such a huge avalanche. 8-12 hours of trek/hike from Sikles village through Hugu; Kapuche glacial lake and the glacier is the trending destination for internal tourism. Short journey (4-6 days) which takes one through surreal landscapes and the mountain views, Kapuche Lake trek is a breathtaking journey. Everyday, 2-4 avalanches fall in Kapuche glacier that arrives till the lake depending upon the size of the avalanche. Since there was a huge avalanche in the day earlier, we least expected for another avalanche in the early morning. But, it happened and we nearly lost our lives. Totally crazy, isn't it!
