    I'm happy to eat some leftover food but I'm not going to give myself food poisoning and waste a whole lot more nutritional value on getting really sick. I'd rather eat fresh food and just buy what I need and that's it. Getting sick means wasting more food. I'd rather not do that.

      Much of it can be frozen, it might lose a little bit of texture but when your hungry its great, with a peice of buttered toast!

      That's true. Most people don't need all the food that they eat anyways. If people only ate what they should, that alone would drop their grocery bill by 60%.

    Food Essentials are getting crazy okay milk juice eggs flour rice that stuff should be way low sold by the millions of millions of pounds we should be able to sell it at a low price

      If you find a big 15kg bag of flour in a cheap online store or bulk store, get a used breadmaker it will last months and save hundreds

      Get a used breadmaker, and a big bag of flour...it will save you hundreds of dollars..boil your own dry beans, fry a little onions/garlic and spices throw a tin of tomato into it, voila, baked beans way better!!

      Get a cheap used breadmaker, bulk lg bags of flour, save hundreds on bread alone. I also make my own sour dough mother mix, just with flour and water and i got a big bag of rye breadmix, and my bread is as good as the artisan loaves that cost 7$ here..for less than 1$

    Goodness I’m barely making it with rent, bills, and groceries, but I have to pick and choose,
    I get the basic staples… but poultry, and meats are pricey!… so I only buy what I need for the week. Thank goo For dry goods… it’s even more difficult when your diabetic… it’s crazy….

      wow, i bet..have you thought about making your own bread in a breadmaker? NO sugar, and you can use whatever flour you need..I buy 1 bag of rye bread mix, mix it with some white flour, my own sourdough starter, a pinch of yeast and the bag lasts me a year, no preservatives! Make your own baked beans from dry beans, super easy, recipes all over the net.

    I can look in my freezer and see the back you ain't got a bunch of food in there that I'm not throwing away and food I eat what we buy can't hardly afford to do that. Everybody don't have money when the sales are there we get paid once a month and we have to buy what we can

    The reason the price of food goes up because of Transportation cost fuel but when the price of fuel goes down nothing ever goes down let's take a look in history nothing ever goes down when the price of fuel goes down but when the price of fuel goes up it goes up again and never down help me out here folks

      Thats exactly right, they refuse to 'negative gear" but expect us to do it on our wages..i knew they would never put prices back down once they went up. Humans are too greedy, the wealthier they get, the less moral compass they have.

      That's true. When we have a disaster in Australia we are charged a levy but when it's over, the levy is never removed. Next time there's a disaster, they add another levy to the old levy. We used to pay $29 a year and now the cost is over $300 with all the levies for floods, fires, storms, wind damage etc

      Why? Inflation started while he was in office. Lumber went up like crazy, and then other things followed. Inflation however, happens for a lot of reasons. Greedflation is what we're dealing with. And neither has much to do with who is in office. Don't fall for all the election year drama.

      Yes. When Trump was president, I was able to buy food that I like. Now, I have to exist on the lowest priced items only. Everyone I know also tells me how high food prices are now compared to four years ago.

      Leftovers are awesome after a long days work! Especially with a slice of toasted breakmaker bread! No margarine for me, I make "knox butter" using cream instead of evap milk..you cant even tell the difference

    None of this advice helps me. I only get Social Security and can only spend about $175.00 a month on food. So even when foods are marked way down, I cannot afford to buy several of anything. Thank goodness I am a small eater. Also, my strict budget makes me stay thin.

      I didn't take it that she was talking about long-term, long shelf life 'prepper' food. At any rate, that food needs to be eaten in a cycle, so that none of it spoils or goes to waste.

      I make my own bread, with a 2nd hand breadmaker I bought for 30$..buying big bags of flour is quite a bit cheaper than the little 2 lb bags, you really do end up saving hundreds.

      If you want to grow or forage your food, there are lots and lots of prepping videos for that. Many teach you how to become a homesteader. This video is just telling people what they need to do when it comes to grocery shopping, which is the majority of us.

      I buy all my clothes from a second hand shop and even then I can't remember the last time I bought anything. I keep repairing my clothes till they literally fall apart. Then I use them for rags. I always buy cotton which is useful for rags

      What she means, is not to waste stuff by not freezing it so it goes off. Plan your weekly meals around whats on special (meat/veg) instead of buying specific stuff to suit what you want to make. You have to do some compromise.
