- Hamley's is the world's biggest toy stop in the world. Over 6 floors and over 264 years old (original store in Covent Garden). The Regent Street store opening in 1881, it became a location for the royal family to shop and the masses to visit.

We are all kids at heart, you can imagine bouncing around that shop as a child even if it was a long time ago. I can appreciate the time and difficulty you must have had filming it too. 😊

The first time I visited Hamleys for the first time in 1979 as an 8 year old. It was amazing and I go to pick out one toy, what a hard decision lol. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. ❤️❤️

Our toy stores disappeared mostly because of Amazon, the largest toy retailer in the U.S. Hamleys is the oldest and biggest toy store in the world and FAO Schwarz in New York is the most expensive store in the world. For $25 plus tax and fees you can spend the night in the toy store😮❤

That store is so cute! I absolutely love it and miss having toy stores here. We only have Target and it's nothing as magical as Hamleys. I would pay more for toys just to keep places like that going for the children to enjoy!

Hannah thanks for the video, it brought me back to the past. My child has already grown up. As a child, he was very fond of Thomas the steam train (from the cartoon "Thomas and his friends"). I still have the railroad and the trains from the cartoon.

I do agree with you that certain things should be free when you go shopping in person...like those arcade games. I guess over the years they've realized they can charge for something that used to be free and they know people might pay anyway.
Also, I do think the sound was better in this video. I do feel like I could hear you better here compared to other videos. But maybe that's just me.

Thanks for going to Hamley’s! My 18 y/o daughter and I were visiting from the US last month and wandered in and were overwhelmed by the noise and chaos (even though it was fun to see the toys), so nice to see someone else go through and make sense of it. We rushed through, it was so loud !
Even though I'm a grownup I have almost always visited Hamley's when I've visited London just because it's fun to see all what they have to offer and what are the latest trends in toys and I've bought London car souvenirs like the double decker bus and the black cab.

Wow! HUGE toy store, HIGH prices, but superbly well-organized! The toy demonstrators make it fun. Most toy stores make me crazy trying to find a specific item, but this one looks like it would be easy(er). Hannah's hair looks particularly pretty today!

AS a fully grown person but a kid at heart, this was memory lane experience at times.
Prices for this experience boarded on outragous, but maybe a place to view the product before purchasing online or a cheaper place.
Nice to experience via you though, not sure how I would cope.

I remember when I was in London last Christmas I went to Westfield and there is a hamleys, with moving rail above the entrance with lots of huge plushies and 🧸. We in Canada don't have big toy store like this

We went years ago with 3 0f my grandsons [ all grown up now with kids of their own ] - they were on a mission and stampeded up the escalators to explore - it was packed to suffocation and we spent the whole time trying to track rhem down - happy days Hannah x

I loved this video. Hamleys use to be such beautiful store full of with what one could describe as real toys. Old fashioned toys like beautiful dolls prams and Im not talking that long ago. They use to stock exquisite dolls from America and Spain and unusual toys but now it seems to gear towards plastic boxed things. With such high prices. I hate those flying things always think they are going to woosh my hair. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your day xx

I've heard of retail stores who'll drop their price if you can show them a competitor is selling it for a cheaper price. I'd be tempted just to ask, anyway...no harm/no foul.
@isabellind1292 Our supermarket Asda has that, not sure Hamleys would, but I knew a lady who did that with everything she bought except food and it is amazing how much money she saved.
@@angeladormer6659 Oh, that's great! I can see why it may not work in a high-end toy store but I've heard of some retailers in Canada who will match the competitors' price if you can show it's being sold for less than they are selling it for.
It takes a little assertiveness to try but it doesn't cost to ask. 😊👍👍

My parents took me up to London in the 1960s when I was seven. Hamleys was smaller, but as a child I couldn't believe it. My dream come true. I was most interested in electric train sets - then Hornby, Triang and Trix. There was also the football board game Wembley and the ubiquitous Monopoly with Mayfair and Park Lane etc. Ah, but those were the days ... always children at heart.
Wow of my child self was there I would literally will demanding my father to give me all ahaha wow thanks for sharing this Hannah. Honestly I would love to go there soon with my little sisters ❤😊
Love Hamleys always pop in there with the better half when we are in London takes you back to those wonderful nostalgic 90’s days!

Everything in Harley's is marked up for tourists. The LEGO Store is only a short walk away in Leicester Square and you sometimes get free gits with purchases.
