    For the weight and comfort of the All Road, that’s a great result. What a cruiser!

    I've got about 3,500 miles on my one month old A6 Allroad (vacation travel). At least 1000 last miles of my trip was 99% highway travel, and averaged 33 mpg. I could not get 38 mpg, but one gas tank is good for over 600 miles, not bad. And yes, it can pass anybody on the highway in a split of a second. Very comfortable, had some minor electronic glitches with sensors and navigation, which is not surprising - it is very complicated. Driver assist system is not perfect, have to make sure all sensors are clean of bugs and dirt, and speed sign recognition is not 100% reliable, but overall all these gadgets are helpful for a long travel. And, it is undeniably beautiful, a few people stopped by to ask what kind of car is this...

      Isn't it funny? It's an utility wagon, supposed to be a boring hauler, and still people turn heads when they see it. :)

    Amazing results. Audi has done a great job assisting that engine to maximize efficiency. 💯

    Just drove my '20 CPO home from the dealer. 35.5 mpg on the highway on a 200+ mile trip, and as fast as my '93 NSX 0-60. Love it!

    I just bought a 2020 A6 allroad. We've already done a road trip with it, and you're right, it's the perfect road trip car!
    Im amazed at the mpg you got. I was already impressed by getting 33 mpg. I didn't think 38 was possible.
    I tend to drive more spiritedly, but this is a good thing to know.
    Going to check out your other video now.

    As a b9 A4 Allroad owner, the result didn't surprise me. My epa rated 28mpg highway Audi had averaged 42mpg driving from DC to New York, while cruising at 72mph. I believe the new quattro with ultra technology was the key for efficiency here in both vehicles, anyway, another reason to upgrade to the A6 Allroad!

      @thevetteman3 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is impressive. By comparison I have a B8.5 allroad which will average over 30 on highway trips averaging 80mph. Just recalculated it. 30.7 over a 300 mile loop. This was on its original all seasons, that dips a bit on our winter set. That's my cleanest all highway run which is on a loop so that's an added plus.
      From memory speeds averaging in the low to mid 70s are mid 30s. Here in the Midwest, travelling primarily Chicago to northern Michigan, speeds rarely go below 70 and I average 80-85. Even the b8.5 is just such a nice cruiser and mile muncher.
      Eventually we will upgrade this car to a newer a4 allroad or this a6 allroad. Both are impressive. But I do like the full time awd system with the center torsen.

    Really like your reveiws! They give a good feel for the cars. Living in Sweden, dealing with winterconditions. Looking for a vagon. Love the Defender and the Audi A6 allroad. It's amazing, the Audi inline 6 engines, combining power and fuel efficiency. I think the diesel 6 (that we got in Europe) is even a little bit better. If I'm not wrong they have a different setup for the allweeldrive. With 60-40. 60% to the rear weels and 40 to the front, while the petrol has a more frontweel driven setup to save fuel. A Audi VS Volvo youtube would be fun. Volvos are also great cars. Thanks a lot.

    Assuming you're testing in Colorado, I wonder how elevation may play into this. Normally that would impact the engine's performance, but with the electronically controlled turbo to keep pressure in the system, it could be mitigating the negative elevation impacts while retaining the benefits of driving faster in a lower air density environment. Cold weather should offset that with higher air density, but with lower starting air density, I imagine it's not as big of an impact compared to sea level.
    Would love to see Audi move to a PHEV system in this car for best of both worlds. At 20 miles of electric range, and averaging 32 miles driven per day could increase that 500 mile highway range to well over 1200 miles between fill ups before adding in improved fuel economy in city driving from regen.

    • @nevco8774
      @nevco8774 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish at least a similar powertrain to Audi A3 Sportback which is a decent PHEV. Why I am not sold on pure EV powertrain is the idea it being exactly from Audi Etron and that means a range close to 177 miles in real life for Etron according to this channel testing or even lower if the sportiness is improved for a wagon. Even if an EV wagon will be manufactured by Audi it might be available in Europe and not in the USA unfortunately. However if Audi puts a Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo powertrain with very fast charging then it will be very good and efficient indeed.

    Yes, Audi makes a great car. My A3 e-tron gets excellent mileage. 118.5 mile route, 1.8 gallons. (A 2008 Prius did the same loop at 1.7 gallons). You are skilled and talented, and it is fun to watch your videos.
    I reviewed the ID4, in person, but it is too big, and it has 20 inch rims. This A6 is very appetizing...

    Love your in depth reviews ! I am torn between the A4 - A6 Allroads I am back and forth between Utah and San Diego twice a month 750 miles each way
    A6 is the car ! But is it worth the extra $$ and what about regular maintenance expenses compared to the A4. The speed limit on the 15 highway in Utah is 80 miles an hour how would you compare both cars fuel economy to each other?. Thanks I value your opinion and will be applying it to my purchase decision. Thanks so much.

    Just an FYI: I don’t think you had the B&O Stereo. It looks like your dash had the built-in speakers up front. The B&O has tweeters that raise and lower at start-up/shut down.

    Question... would you get any aero advantage when driving 50m behind that truck? I thought you needed to be "tucked" behind to get any kind of appreciable benefit.
    Anyone?

    No surprise, really. My '03 E320 Wagon gets low 30's on the highway. Just set the cruise at 70mph and let it roll. 189k and still stout on the road.

    No dieselgate here. I’m not surprised. I have 2012 Audi A7 supercharged and on the highway if you use comfort and gentle with the accelerator you can easily get over 30mpg

    1,400 rpm at 70 mph is amazing. My ‘14 A7 3.0T is good, too but would be doing more like 1,650 rpm at 70 mph.

      Though your result is in line with C&D's 75 mph 200-mile test: "Over our 200-mile highway fuel economy test route, the A6 Allroad delivered a stellar 34 mpg result while the V90 Cross Country returned only 29 mpg."
