    As a family we went to fly in outpost camps in Manitoba for 5 years straight. This is the kind of fishing we experienced. Our boys couldn't get away from us and that was good because of their ages. Today they talk highly of their Canadian experience. This was a great video, very nice camp and great filming. Thanks, great experience!

    Wow Keenan. What a great destination. I’m new to trout fishing so this is very helpful. I have to know what brand that fish lip gripper is and where you bought it? It will make pike fishing so much better. Still catching up on your old videos, you are killing it on YT, one of my faves, until next time 😊

    • @CanoeTheNorth
      @CanoeTheNorth  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much Derek! We are glad to hear that you are enjoying the channel. This was a very cool fishing trip for sure. We were lucky to go there. Catching that many lake trout daily is something that not many people will ever get to experience.
      That fish lip grabber is called a boga grip. They are amazing. I started bringing it on a lot of canoe trips because you can easily land huge fish without having to carry a massive net. Also makes for a faster release as sometimes you barely have to have them out of the water. It has a built in scale as well. I have the 30lb model which I always though would be more then big enough. Kind of a funny story but the first time I used it was with my brother on a fly in canoe trip. We ended up landing a massive 30lb pike on that trip. Maybe I should have got the bigger boga grip! 😂

    I looked up the website for this outfitter. Why do they charge American funds to fish in Ontario, Canada? I noticed that many or all outfitters up that way do this. Charging Canadians, American dollars to fish in Canada...WTH????
    Seems a bit crazy to me that its $1500.00US/person/week. Id love to take my dad and brother up there but not at those rates.
    For the record, I have no problem paying Canadian dollars to fish in Canada...

    • @CanoeTheNorth
      @CanoeTheNorth  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Matthew. Thanks for watching the video and glad you enjoyed the fishing. As far as the American pricing I can see why as a Canadian it seems kinda crappy but I see both sides. From almost all the outfitters I have talked to and visited in Canada, 90-95% of their clients are American. It’s a hard business to be in with a short season so I can see why the outfitters want to make every little bit extra they can. I don’t know for sure but eddie Showalter seems very reasonable. I can see him helping you out if you called him. Especially right now with the border still closed.

The one snapped about 1/3 of the way up the rod??? Ive never seen that before. They have been on a LOT of trips and been beaten up pretty good so Im going to say it was my mishandling.
