You know they stole it from a shitty 90's movie about teenage douche bags, right? Cruel intentions.. I never noticed it in the movie as a kid, but thought it was sick in marks part.
A few years ago I went to the Berrics at their old location, PJ Ladd was there training and when I told him how big of a fan I was he took a break and spent time talking with me. Couldn't have been a cooler, nicer guy and I'll never forget it. Mad props for everything PJ, you're a legend.
I saw him in the Uk some years back with Plan B, probably the most antisocial one out of all of them. To be fair P Rod was the only one who seemed genuinely friendly. The rest clearly werent interested.
I met him years ago at popular diy spot in City Terrace many years ago. He was skating by himself nobody there. Just me and another friend skated with him for a while. You're right he is super nice. He was easily my favorite skater at the time so the fact I just got to skate and talk to him for a bit was pretty dope.
As much as I love Wonderful Life, even though the tricks here are SICK AF, I can't shake the feeling that it looks like PJ has like zero joy skating in this part.
was thinking the same thing. The only time he ever looked like he was having fun was in wonderful horrible life. Even in really sorry that enthusiasm wasn't there anymore. but his skill obviously never left that's for damn sure.
I don’t think he looks unhappy. To me he just looks like a middle aged guy who’s at work. Even if you love your job it’s still very different than being a teenager having fun with friends after school.
@@DFunct905 he's like Michael Jackson he became a slave to the rhthym but he became a slave to doing skate tricks. the tortured artist who's never satisfied w/ his work and is constantly chasing perfection.

Yeah I was just talking about this. Gotta remember that the man that started the effortless style was Penny first though. I’d say in this part as he’s older now it’s definitely not anywhere near as effortless as wonderful horrible life. Wonderful horrible life was also one of the most influential to me, but I have to include all the other greats from that time, like sorry, yeah right and baker 2g. PJ is the shit dude

It’s still and i guess it’ll always be Mark Appleyard that would get to my head every time i hear this song. Even nowadays as soon as i hear the guitar intro of Placebo’s Every You Every Me, the vision in my head is that of Mark’s 50-50 to sack on that rail 😅 (no offense to PJ)
Wonder if he ever went back to land that. A few months back i talked to him on Instagram(only a few messages), that would’ve been a good question to ask. I wanted to get some shirts he made & was selling but they were all sold out by the time I asked. Told him he def should’ve made one with the “fuck yeah” when he rolled away from the smith in Sorry
I guess he did but Im not so sure about it. I think I saw it in one of those b-side clips from the SORRY and REALLY SORRY videos that I once saw here in TH-cam but I couldn’t find it anymore. But for me, it’ll be Mark’s I.E. video part that would pump up the adrenaline in me to go out and skate.
