- Shoplifting has become so bad at one Rite Aid store in Southern California that nearly all products have been placed under lock and key.

Rite Aid looks like they are going out of business in California. The place is a practically useless place to shop.
$6.49 for a small bag of Doritos! No one shopping there in the first place now will def go out of business.
yea one of the stores in santa barbara isn't stocking certain shelfs and items as often or none at all
Yeah Walmart is still the go to place honestly
My local store doesn't even stock shelves.
at that point it should just be order online and pick up
drive thru
I like shopping in stores. That should always be a thing.
@@Harcorwrestler i agree but when the store needs to have employees basically baby sitting you i dont see the point also how could they help everyone if they are busy sounds like they would need some one just to do this , its all sad really
😂 same. Rather buy a bag of chips online than waiting forever for someone to come to unlock the case
Agree
Blame your politicians for allowing shoplifters to go free. 🔥
Don’t blame the politicians. Blame the voters.

Compton 😂
It happens in San Francisco too. Majority white and Asian
Don't blame the store blame the thieves that brought it to this point do not get upset with the stores that are doing this or the workers
Nah, blame the Democrat policies that enable these lawless behaviors without any consequences.
@@gofar12345 so just because because laws are more relaxed it excuses human beings from committing crime? How about accountability from the generations of bad parenting and lack of discipline.
I blame the unaffordable cost of living... I'm homeless in my car despite working and paying bills and contributing to society...
Hey, they’re creating jobs 🤭 maybe we can afford to buy a house now
@@Network126Enable criminals much?
Why don't they arrest the idiots that are stealing.
Because that would be racist
If it under $1000, they are not arrested or they are arrested then let go the same day🤦🏾♂
they rather lock up the chips and cereal than the people committing crime. but then again why did people vote for prop 47 and Gascon?
They've made crime legal...
Right?
Shoplifters created this hopefully this will help curb thef.
Nah, criminals always find a way. My guess, they will wait for you to finish up shopping...then the real action afterwards.
this still means thieves will walk among us, and pretend to be normal human beings who will now target civilians instead of stores.
If they not robbing big retail stores, then theyll goto smaller vulnerable stores with no cages and locks
Unaffordable cost of living created this... I'm homeless in my car despite working and paying bills and contributing to society...
This will end up closing stores because no one will want to shop here having to wait for one employee to help out more than they can handle. Sure if it was a few things not everything...
@@Network126literally what happens when democrats are in charge
Outrageous!! shoplifters making it bad for All 🤨
This the future of shopping
And what is it mean they're targeting retail thefts. If you're not locking people up, it's pointless.
Businesses adapt to the community conditions!
They would rather adapt than avoid the problem all together by finding real solutions.

At this point, every store should be order online and then pick up. No need to go inside.
It won't be long before thieves start robbing the mobile order pickup clerk or customer at the car.
Or assaulting people arriving home, we need to look at the future scenarios that will arrive.
Might as well close it down
it will this is the last attempt to stay open just a matter of time

Parents and community members will be up in riot once these stores leave but won't take accountability for their youth that steal.
underrated comment of the year.
This will only stop the thieves from coming into that Rite Aid they will just go down the street to 7-Eleven and still these people are out of control
who thought it was a good idea to open a location in compton
yes those cities should be left empty by all companies. Oakland as well.
Chicago is opening up city-owned stores in food deserts because private companies won’t
@@dluu25what do u actually know about Compton CA? They have some nice homes+ ranch houses out there! It just another city! Most people think Dr Dre I guess😂

underrated comment right here. bad parenting. but also a lot of these people come from homes where they had no parents. I think better education on using contraception in THOSE communities need to be better implemented.
@@dluu25 well said
It’s cute, and very much a statement, BUT if they don’t have enough staff (which I’m sure they don’t) it’s just gonna cut into their margins the other way. If someone wants to steal they will take advantage of one of the doors left unlocked or they will break the glass. People who don’t steal aren’t gonna wait 15minutes to get help with one thing when they need multiple. Might as well just close the store.
Let's just see how long this Store remains in BUSINESS, with everything under lock and key I'll give it 6 mouths

we in the ghettos with this one 🗣️🤪🗣️
I think at this point they should just screen everyone that comes in.. go through metal detectors and door locks behind you when you come in until you leave with receipt.
I like that better than everything locked up! You can never find anyone to help u! U have to go look for people. Then u get tired and say forget it, and just leave.
Gee, I wonder why they are doing this at a store in Compton? 🤔
Vote Blue and this will Continue.
Don’t care. The suits of these companies voted for leniency.
just don’t shop there. it’s all overpriced junk anyway. reminds me of when stores first started using those bullet-proof plexiglass barriers between their customers and the cashiers. i’ll be damned if i spend money at a place that sees me as nothing more than a criminal 👎🏾🤷🏽♀️
You hear Compton. You already know the story
I used to work at a grocery store, it didn't matter if they we're homeless or pulling up in a brand new Benz or Bentley, people are gonna shoplift no matter what. Wealthy people were the worst, they acted as if they were immune to any laws.
Theft is a source of inflation, not just interest rates.
Companies pass the cost onto law-abiding citizens
And where is it again? Oh yeah cuh cuh cuh Compton
Isn’t NY and LA Democrat cities….
yes.

You can thank that one group of people, and if your wondering who that may be, they are ⚫️
And this group of people wonders why other group of people dnt want them in their hood.
Defund the police and don't prosecute retail theft, and this will be the result. They should be thankful that there is still a store there.
Thank you, you damn shoplifters!!!
There will now be class action lawsuit's due to discrimination against Thieves.😢😢😢
That's already happened. The 13% have said it's racist to lock things up and have sued

Truly pathetic that things have gotten to this point. Must be such an inconvenience to shop here but if this what they have to do to stay afloat and open, then so be it.
The guest themselves should be encased in a protective barrier during their time inside the store
Straight Outta….well, you know😂😂😂😂
The end the man entering the store putting his hoddie he's already a suspect, we all know this type of robbery is because inflation and high prices but no excuse for this type of behavior.
I am now calling my shopping trip to RiteAid "In-n-Out" because I don't have time to wait for an employee who does stocking and cashier duties. It takes too long to get a few items from the locked cases.
Enough of the bleeding heard liberal policies. Vote them out.
When I went shopping a few weeks ago, I saw people putting one in their cart, and putting another product in their pocket or purse.
lol
This is just a reflection of their community.
I'm glad to see this...Good job Rite aid!!!
Dear news man, everything in Socal is under lock and key.
What's to prevent the person you give the item to from walking out without paying? Most company policies prohibit you from ever touching the person, allowing a getaway. People are so unabashed and brazen with their behavior these days. I hate shopping, period! The less I deal with the public, the better!
Thats the beauty of online/kiosk shopping.
Maybe if stores wouldn’t charge so much for stuff, people wouldn’t have to steal items just to survive and not starve to death.
Might as well just have online shopping
No, they're not frustrated. They voted for it ✊🏿✊🏾
They're locking up chips; this is how sad it has become--stealing chips 😳
that is the normal behavior in most of these areas
Gavan Newsom started this. I grew up in la and live in texas now. Whet to California for my birthday and spend time with my family and went to a Walmart were i grew up and they had the socks and underwear under lock and key. The hotel i stayed at you had to have a cofe to use the bathroom in the lobby. Its gotten way to bad there. It a shame
They have to, unfortunately. I go to the San Diego locations and same. You have to ask for everything.
Unfortunately business owners are not starving

Wow, this is sad.
……it’s a part of Los Angeles I would NEVER go to……..EVER.
Vote for kamala if this is acceptable
Its always them.
Who's them!
I live in Compton, and it isn't the working residents who are the issue. There is a group of addicts who would go inside that Rite aid and steal to resell at a lesser price. Beer, for example. The thieves and the individuals who purchased the stolen items from them are to blame. I went in one day, and while I was paying, a woman walked in and walked out the door holding a case of beer. The cashier said they were told not to try and stop them. Once you see it for yourself in person, reality really hits hard that we will be living like this from now on. It is truly disappointing of all those Americans who have participated in this downfall. I really hope we unite, especially right now, that there is word of ww3 and people around the world are waiting on the opportunity to take a piece of this country where I call my home. Surely not the future I grew up thinking about.
The people that steal got all the time to wait for an employee to get it out for them before running out with it its just going to bring down the number of purchases 😂
This is ridiculous. Cali needs to prosecute and put these shoplifters in jail for a long time.
When exploring the world if you happen to see this you know it’s an armpit outside those doors as far as your eyes can see
That’s honestly just embarrassing
Absolutely ridiculous! Who wants to shop there..? Just buy anything a person needs online & have it delivered for free!
Cool a other museum!!!
We keeping the stereotypes and culture alive with this one 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Oh no I can't go buy items marked up twice as much as they normally should be
Sad that how one persons bad habits can affect one who is not part of the problem. This reminds me of 2nd hand smoking and throwing plastic in the ocean. Through one bad deed many suffer.
feel sorry for the workers. it's sucks working in there
Just close the store! I wouldn't stop there
I just came back from sallisaw Oklahoma and nothing is on lockdown!
Well…, everything’s going up… and the wages are stagnant!!! What do you expect?!!😒
Rite Aid is always in bankruptcy and they should just close this store. What’s the point of keeping it open.
How about make it a crime to steal? Throw them in jail.
All the walmarts and home depots in minneapolis have most things locked up too even shampoo.
I worked for this company, it's already a hassle running back and forth for the ice cream department. Good luck to the workers. And the shelves are still empty cause they aren't getting anything good on their trucks anymore.
If you look on glassdoor or indeed Rite Aid has abysmal employee reviews with the biggest complaint being that the stores are chronically understaffed. That's why there's been more theft. Stores cut back so many hours that there's often only a couple employees at the registers.
