Last visit to old STW Channel 9 studios in Dianella

On Saturday 24th September, 2016, the Dianella grounds of STW Nine were open to inspect auction items for their relocation sale. The station has built new state of the art studios in St George's Terrace Perth.
Two television veterans, Gordon McColl and Phil Salinger, who date back to the 1956 origins of television in Australia, visited STW to inspect the auction items.
Phil was accompanied by his wife Briony on the visit.
The big studio, out back, contained mainly furniture.
The remnants of the vision control room for all studios were still in place, though signs of stripping were evident.
Equipment of an electronic nature was on display in the next biggest studio, whilst the former News studio had been stripped.
This property, with panoramic views of the hills, is now earmarked for demolition, with a housing estate to replace the historic, 51 year old Channel Nine studios.
