I would agree with you after trying both major lock companies and producing reviews on TH-cam as well, the Onnais RV door lock is indeed a better product and it costs less! Great work on the video! -Keith
Just Ordered. I have one of their biometric gun safes and its been flawless. Love all the new features especially the ability to punch in ghost codes! Graet Video , Safe Travels!!!
As I look at this ONNAIS door lock, the build quality looks great. The electronic portion of the lock looks secure. But the single-sided traditional house key that opens the mechanical lock seems like a real weakness. I can buy a bump key set off of eBay that would let my third grader circumvent a traditional house lock. Surely there is a different style of key out there that is less common and therefore less convenient for a criminal to defeat. Double-sided automotive keys are much more secure. And I've often wondered if the circular keys used on things like vending machines would work. I've never heard of those locks getting picked or "bumped". The new RVLock Trek, which also employs only one mechanical lock, uses (what looks to me like) a much more unusual key. If there is one thing I would like to see ONNAIS address on their next revision, it is this. Otherwise, this looks like a great lock.
How does the outside thickness compare to the second version of the lock? I just installed the second version and found out the lock hits the wall of my rv when door is fully opened. I’m afraid it will put a hole in the wall eventually
Same thickness on the lock. On my last RV the standard door catch had an extra "stop" (3" plastic cone) that kept the door from hitting the RV side wall. It was all integrated into the same piece. I can't seem to find the part on Amazon, but maybe an RV supplier would have it.
Thank you for the comment. I don't see why not. I haven't owned one of the glass doors, but pretty sure they are same cut-out and similar thickness. Double check me though if the dimensions shown in below video match yours: th-cam.com/video/N2qwBophJN8/w-d-xo.html&si=cRDYdMs2wFPSCt_s
@@reberhardt Great question. I've never tried it myself, but looking at how it attaches I believe it would work. There's a good bit of flexibility in the Morryde design, so it should work. Here's a video going over requirements, so double check me: th-cam.com/video/82_xQ0YfN7w/w-d-xo.html

@AdventureRocks do you know if that lock button slider on the inside panel locks out any remote signals?
Negative, at least in my testing that is.

Do you know if the lock would work on the Lippert G glass doors?

Will this work with the Morryde latch extension?
